Located in Honesdale, PA, Wayne County is looking for a patient, compassionate, and organized individual who enjoys assisting senior citizens to find resources for a more productive, safe, and happy life while while maintaining as much independence as possible. Assist participants of senior day center by performing personal care tasks.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports older adults by providing information, counseling, and assistance with important programs and services. Work involves direct support, record keeping, outreach, and participation in center activities to ensure quality service and community engagement. As an Aging Case Aide 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Program Guidance: Provide information on benefits and assist with applications for Medicare, PACE, LIHEAP, and Tax or Rent Rebate programs
- Community Outreach: Visit homes, attend events, and connect individuals with needed resources throughout Wayne County
- Center Coordination: Support senior center activities, events, volunteer efforts, and member registrations
- Nutrition Support: Assist with meal distribution, sanitation steps, as well as collection and documentation of donations
- Record Management: Enter and maintain accurate information in agency and statewide systems, including PA MEDI and referral documentation
- General Assistance: Help with newsletters, displays, transportation arrangements, and education events while completing related duties as needed
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Overnight travel and out-of-county travel for meetings or training may be required.
- Coverage at other senior centers or satellite locations may be required.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of public contact work, which involved obtaining or providing information; or
- Any equivalent of experience and training.
