Position Summary

The primary purpose of an IT Business Partner is to work with business units to: (1) serve as the primary liaison between assigned business areas and Information Technology, (2) understand business objectives, priorities, and strategic initiatives, and (3) help ensure IT services and capabilities are aligned to support business goals.

This position serves as a trusted advisor, relationship manager, and advocate for assigned business units. The IT Business Partner helps business leaders navigate IT services, connect with the appropriate technology resources, communicate business needs, and facilitate effective collaboration between the business and IT. The role promotes transparency, customer satisfaction, and a positive partnership between IT and the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between assigned business units and Information Technology.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Understand the goals, priorities, challenges, and operating environment of assigned business units.
  • Meet regularly with business leaders to discuss objectives, initiatives, concerns, and opportunities where IT may provide support.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and advocate for assigned business units while helping align expectations between the business and IT.
  • Help business partners navigate IT services, capabilities, processes, and organizational resources.
  • Coordinate engagement with appropriate IT teams to ensure business needs are routed to the proper resources and addressed efficiently.
  • Facilitate communication regarding technology initiatives, service updates, operational impacts, and other IT-related activities.
  • Track business requests, commitments, issues, and follow-up activities to help ensure appropriate resolution and accountability.
  • Support business units in identifying and documenting technology-related needs, opportunities, and concerns.
  • Promote awareness and adoption of existing technology services, tools, and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with technology teams, project teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to support successful delivery of solutions and services.
  • Assist in resolving escalated issues by coordinating communication and engagement among business and IT stakeholders.
  • Gather feedback from business partners and identify opportunities to improve the overall customer experience with Information Technology.
  • Measure and monitor customer satisfaction and participate in action planning to address areas of concern.
  • Ensure commitments from business units, vendors, and IT teams are communicated, tracked, and fulfilled.
  • Represent Information Technology in business meetings, planning discussions, and stakeholder engagements as appropriate.

  • Familiarity with technology services, applications, and IT organizations preferred.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Information Technology, Business Relationship Management, Customer Success, Project Coordination, Business Analysis, Banking Operations, or a related field.
  • Experience building relationships and working directly with business stakeholders and leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Smartsheet experience preferred.
  • Financial services or banking experience preferred.
  • Core banking platform knowledge preferred.
  • General banking application knowledge preferred.
