Job Description

As a Principal IT Business Partner, you will serve as the primary interface between domain stakeholders and IT, ensuring alignment between domain priorities, technology strategy, demand, and delivery outcomes. You will report directly to the Director, IT Transformation Management Office (TMO) & Business Partners.

In this role, you will serve as the strategic IT Business Partner for a Strategic Business Group (SBG), region, or functional domain, acting as the primary liaison between domain leadership and IT. You will help shape domain demand, align technology investments to strategic priorities, and ensure successful delivery of domain outcomes through effective governance, stakeholder engagement, and value realization. Rather than serving as a functional subject matter expert, you will leverage domain acumen and technology leadership to connect domain strategy with enterprise capabilities, delivery teams, and transformation initiatives.

At Solstice, our people are critical to our success. Success in this role will be defined by your ability to build strong partnerships with Solstice IT professionals and vendors, develop a deep understanding of domain functions, and minimize friction between domain expectations and IT delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Stakeholder Alignment

  • Serve as the primary IT advisor to the domain, building trusted relationships and ensuring alignment between domain priorities and IT strategy.
  • Translate domain objectives into prioritized IT roadmaps, investments, and outcomes.
  • Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and alignment gaps through effective governance and stakeholder engagement.

Technology Lifecycle Management and Process Enablement

  • Partner with domain leadership to translate domain priorities into integrated roadmap and technology portfolio.
  • Drive alignment, integration, and automation across end-to-end processes to improve practitioner experience, data quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure solutions are secure, compliant, scalable, and aligned with enterprise architecture, data, cybersecurity, and any other relevant standards.

Business Strategy Alignment

  • Align domain priorities with IT strategy, roadmaps, and investment plans.
  • Identify opportunities to improve domain performance through process optimization, automation, analytics, and digital capabilities.
  • Provide strategic technology guidance informed by domain needs and industry trends.
  • Lead IT demand intake, prioritization, and domain case development to maximize domain value and strategic alignment.
  • Align initiatives with enterprise architecture, portfolio objectives, and funding priorities.
  • Facilitate governance decisions by providing transparency into investments, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs.

Cross-IT Coordination & Delivery Alignment

  • Coordinate across IT (TMO, Enterprise Architecture, delivery teams, service owners, and Business Partners) to ensure demand is effectively shaped, funded, and executed.
  • Drive alignment across cross-functional dependencies, shared platforms, and delivery timelines.
  • Ensure domain requirements are accurately represented through delivery and solution implementation.
  • Ensure the domain defines and validates benefit measures, and holds ownership for tracking adoption, realizing benefits, and performance against business case objectives.
  • Establish feedback loops with stakeholders to continuously improve solutions, processes, and portfolio outcomes.
  • Provide transparency on progress, risks, and outcomes to support stakeholder and executive decision-making.
Qualifications

You Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree (or above) in Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, Human Resources, or a related business discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in business transformation, IT business partnership, management consulting, enterprise applications, portfolio management, or strategic technology leadership roles.
  • Experience supporting one or more business transformation domains such as integrated supply chain (customer, manufacturing, commercial), human resources (workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, talent management, and employee experience), legal, or other corporate functions
  • Strong capability in business stakeholder engagement and alignment, translating domain needs into business cases, analytical problem-solving, conflict resolution, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Solid understanding of change management and digital adoption practices to enable effective rollout and sustained use of transformative technologies.
  • In-depth understanding of data privacy and security requirements, including safeguarding sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII) under data privacy laws and frameworks.
  • Ability to travel up 20% of time on average.

We Value

  • Demonstrates learning agility, actively seeking feedback from business partners, peers, and teams; curious, data-driven, and committed to continuous improvement through retrospectives and lessons learned.
  • Invests personally and organizationally in modern skills (e.g., Human Resources (including Hire-to-Retire / H2R processes), SAP/ERP, supply chain management systems, financial databases) with a strong focus on attracting and developing top talent. Has a history of developing future leaders. Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends. Seeks to understand new trends and technologies.
  • Drives technology innovation and digital transformation, aligning IT priorities to enterprise outcomes and business value rather than technology roadmaps alone.
  • Leads with respect, transparency, authenticity, and adaptability, effectively guiding teams through change, disruption, and evolving organizational needs.
  • Applies strong strategic thinking and business acumen, translating strategy into clear priorities, milestones, and measurable outcomes while maintaining organizational momentum.
  • Delivers results through disciplined execution, balancing speed with rigor, removing obstacles, managing dependencies, and taking full ownership of outcomes
  • Fosters innovation while maintaining operational excellence, encouraging experimentation, sound governance, and operational stability.
  • Builds trust-based relationships and alignment across functions, geographies, and stakeholder groups, championing enterprise outcomes for Solstice.
  • Communicates clearly and consistently across global, cross-functional teams, enabling effective change management, resilience, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Creates high-performing, accountable teams by empowering decision-making, establishing clear expectations and guardrails, fostering psychological safety, and recognizing contributions.
  • Demonstrates strong vendor and ecosystem leadership, scaling best practices while balancing standardization with the flexibility needed to meet Solstice needs.
