A Day in the LifeThe Sr. Director, IT Business Partner to Finance, Planning, & Analysis is a senior-level, business-minded information technology leader who partners with senior Finance stakeholders in Controllership, FP&A, and Global Functions/Finance Shared Services to strategize, plan, and deliver next generation IT solutions supporting Finance's transformation strategy.

This role follows Medtronic's flexible workplace model and requires a minimum of four days per week onsite at one of Medtronic's major U.S. operational hubs, including Minneapolis, MN; Lafayette, CO; Mansfield, MA; or North Haven, CT. As a highly collaborative leadership position driving enterprise-wide Data & AI strategy and transformation, regular in-person engagement with business leaders, technology teams, and key stakeholders is essential to foster innovation, accelerate decision-making, and deliver impactful business outcomes across the organization.

In this strategic Sr. Director, IT role you will partner with finance stakeholders andwillplay a significantleadership role in driving the use of modern user-centric platforms, intelligent automation, and advanced analytics.Therolewill lead activities to develop3-to-5-yearroadmaps that will drivethetransformation of the ITapplication landscape.Therolewill work with cross-functional leadersin Finance,IT, and other areas neededtodrivethe conceptualization, architecture, design, and delivery of solutions thatbringcapabilitiestocorporate financein the areas of:

  • Consolidations,Management and External Reporting

  • Forecasting, Planning & Analysis,Budgeting and Forecasting Reporting

  • Advanced Analytics,Dashboarding, Reporting, ad-hoc analysis

  • Financialshared services

  • Migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA

  • Use of industry leading AI platforms (Glean, ServiceNow, Stuut) to simplify and standardize financial processes

  • Strong understanding and enforcement of data security, privacy, and robustcontrolsframework.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary IT partner to Finance leadership by building strong, collaborative relationships across business stakeholders and translating business priorities into a forward-looking technology strategy.

  • Lead demand management, project intake, business case development, funding requests, and implementation roadmaps to ensure technology investments align with strategic objectives and deliver measurable business value.

  • Partner closely with IT delivery organizations to prioritize, plan, and execute initiatives, while maintaining accountability for successful implementation and adoption.

  • Act as the central point of contact for all Finance-related IT activities, providing leadership on issue resolution, escalations, cross-functional coordination, and executive communications to drive successful outcomes across a complex, matrixed organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with 15 years of relevant IT experience or advanced degree with 13+ years of relevant IT experience

  • 10+ years of leadership experience managing global teams and complex technology portfolios

  • Experience in integration and migration of SAP S/4 HANA

  • Experience in one or more of the following: Vistex, Vericent and OneStream

  • Experience in Finance business domain

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Finance Technology & Data Leadership: 10+ years leading finance technology solutions and digital transformation initiatives across FP&A, Controllership, and broader Global Finance functions, with a proven track record of building modern platforms and data-driven capabilities.

  • Deep Finance Domain Expertise: Extensive experience implementing and supporting FP&A and Controllership solutions, including business planning, consolidations, management reporting, external reporting, finance data warehousing, analytics, and decision-support capabilities.

  • Enterprise Transformation & ERP Leadership: Demonstrated success leading large-scale ERP transformations, including global SAP implementations and S/4HANA migrations, while supporting Shared Services, Tax, Treasury, and Audit functions.
