Job description

Driver Position in Rome NY

Orgill is looking for a driver in Rome, NY - $80,000 per year. Safety Bonus: Up to $6,000 paid annually. Driver Referral Bonus (All Drivers & All Domiciles): $1,000 total.

We're looking for positive, energetic, and dedicated workers to join our team. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, Orgill may be right for you!

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Must be able to operate a tractor-trailer with one or more trailers.
  • Must be able to perform pre-trip and post-trip functions.
  • Must be able to deliver and unload merchandise at customer stores, by hand when necessary.
  • Must be able to complete all required paperwork (DOT logs, manifests, trip reports, and fuel reports).
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Must understand how to manage customer merchandise in a timely and safe manner.
  • Ability to take direction from supervisor.
  • Excellent attendance and reliable predictability a must.
  • Adheres to DC housekeeping guidelines.
  • Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • High school diploma.
  • Must possess a current Class A license and HazMat endorsement. Doubles required.
  • Adhering to all DOT requirements and be willing to perform shuttle driver functions.
  • Must have past two years minimum tractor driving experience. Preferably experience pulling double trailers.
  • Must be willing and able to work as needed. Overnight stays will be required.
  • Must have excellent driving history.
  • Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing to comply with all safety policies and practices.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Good comprehension skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with other departments and all levels of management.
  • Attention to detail essential and demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain records accurately.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and to meet deadlines.
  • Must be a team player with a can-do attitude.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
