Material Handler - 1st Shift

Position Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for the following warehouse activities including but not limited to: receiving, fullcase orders, repack stock, and fullcase stock.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive supplier shipments
  • Pick customer orders
  • Operate forklifts or other equipment
  • Maintain inventory integrity and product safety at all times
  • Operate a handheld scanner
  • Obtaining power equipment certifications; electric power jack, walker/rider, and forklift
  • Meet and exceed quality and production standards
  • Ability to take direction from management
  • Adheres to DC housekeeping guidelines
  • Ensures Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times
  • Perform all job duties in accordance with OSHA standards and adhere to all policies, rules, regulations and procedures
  • Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High School diploma preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with (WMS) warehouse management systems, or other platforms
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime
  • Good comprehension and organizational skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with other departments and all levels of management
  • Ability to maintain records accurately and demonstrate problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and to meet deadlines
  • Must be a team player with a can-do attitude
  • Power Equipment certification a plus
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Physical Requirements
  • Must have the ability to meet physical assessment requirements for this position
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs frequently, 50lbs occasionally, and 75lbs rarely
  • Ability to complete the physical assessment at the Material Handler II level
