As an organizational change management consultant, you help companies plan ways to improve their overall performance. This may include helping with an internal assessment of their needs, finding the best way to implement proposed strategies, and working with personnel at various levels to encourage the intended shift. Organizational change management consultants often conduct coaching and training sessions, participate in meetings with various departments, help ensure project goals are being met, identify communication strategies, and manage interpersonal relationships. Some change management consultants work as independent contractors while others work exclusively for a single employer, often a large company that needs help getting past bureaucracy in order to implement changes.
