Job Description:
The Graduate Assistant for Student Organization Support and Finance Management will provide guidance and resources to student organizations. The GA will assist with facilitating student organization workshops and support the budgeting process for student organizations, ensuring compliance with college policies. Students in the MBA program will have direct oversight over all student organization-related finances by monitoring and tracking expenditures and expense reports. Students in the Higher Education or Organizational Leadership degree programs will have the opportunity to utilize leadership development theories and apply structured processes in the various tasks assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Coordinator(s) of Student Engagement & Belonging with various Orientation and Welcome Week-related initiatives.
- Assisting the Coordinator(s) in the direct oversight over student organization-related finances, including, but not limited to: hosting monthly budget hearing meetings for student organizations to request funds, maintain system processes for general budget and percent-based budget organizations, and review student organization funding proposals, vendor contracts, check requests, and expense reports to ensure that they meet budget approval parameters and are filled out correctly, at the approval of the Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students.
- Co-advise the Student Governing Association by working with the Treasurer on student organization-related finance matters and attending general assembly and weekly executive board SGA meetings with the Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students as necessary.
- Assist the Coordinator(s) in designing and developing workshops content tailored to the needs of student organizations, focusing on leadership, recruitment strategies, event planning, and organizational management.
- Assist in the planning and execution of annual Student Leadership Awards.
- Approve and organize event registration requests on and assist with the management of Presence (Modern Campus Involve).
- Other related duties as assigned by Director for Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging.

Job Qualifications:
- Accepted into a graduate program at North Central College.
- Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented and adept at managing tasks to meet deadlines effectively.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Intermediate skills using MS Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
- Preferred: Completion of ACC 201 and ACC 202 or other financial and/or managerial accounting-related courses.
