Senior Executive Assistant 

The Senior Executive Assistant is a trusted partner to one or more members of Fastly's Executive Leadership Team. This role is ideal for an experienced Executive Assistant who has built a strong foundation supporting senior leaders and is ready to take the next step in their career.

While providing exceptional executive support, this role offers the opportunity to grow beyond traditional administrative responsibilities by developing a deep understanding of the business, anticipating executive needs, improving processes, and contributing to the success of the broader organization.

Success in this role requires exceptional organizational skills, sound judgment, strong communication, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, global environment. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, takes initiative without waiting to be asked, and enjoys becoming deeply integrated into the business they support. They notice what needs to be done, anticipate challenges before they arise, and proactively help move priorities forward.

What You'll Do:

Executive Partnership: 

  • Manage complex executive calendars while thoughtfully aligning priorities with business objectives.
  • Coordinate domestic and international travel, adapting quickly as priorities evolve.
  • Prepare agendas, presentations, briefing materials, and executive communications.
  • Manage expense reporting accurately and efficiently.
  • Capture meeting notes, track action items, and help drive follow-through across stakeholders.
  • Anticipate executive needs by thinking ahead and proactively identifying scheduling conflicts, risks, or opportunities

Operational Excellence: 

  • Build a strong understanding of the executive's organization, priorities, and operating rhythms.
  • Coordinate communication across leadership teams and cross-functional partners.
  • Support planning and execution of leadership meetings, executive offsites, customer engagements, and company events.
  • Partner across multiple teams to ensure initiatives continue moving forward.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, communication, and administrative processes.

Business Partnership: 

  • Develop trusted relationships with business leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Exercise sound judgment when balancing competing priorities and changing business needs.
  • Take ownership of projects and follow-through without waiting to be directed.
  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve executive effectiveness and team operations.
  • Handle highly confidential information with professionalism, integrity, and discretion.

Team & Administrative Community

  • Partner closely with Executive Assistants and Administrative Business Partners across Fastly to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Share ideas and best practices that strengthen the broader administrative community.
  • Support executive visits, leadership events, and company initiatives as needed.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, team-first culture within the Executive Business Partner organization.

We're looking for an Executive Assistant who has demonstrated success supporting senior leaders and is excited to grow into a broader business partnership role.

  • Be naturally curious and eager to understand the business beyond the calendar.
  • Adapt quickly as priorities shift while maintaining focus on what matters most.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling confidential information.
  • Use modern workplace technologies and AI tools to improve efficiency and streamline workflows.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams while maintaining a positive, service-oriented mindset.

In addition, the ideal candidate will have: 

  • 5+ years of experience supporting senior executives in a fast-paced technology or high-growth environment.
  • Experience supporting Vice Presidents or Executive Leadership Team members.
  • Experience coordinating complex domestic and international travel.
  • Demonstrated success managing executive meetings, leadership offsites, customer engagements, or company-wide initiatives.
  • Experience working across multiple time zones and global teams.
  • Strong proficiency with Google Workspace, Slack, Coupa, and modern workplace technologies.
  • Experience using AI-powered productivity tools to improve efficiency and streamline administrative work.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.

Work Hours: This position will require you to work during scheduled business hours aligned to the needs of the role in either our San Francisco office. This role also requires working with stakeholders across multiple time zones, with strong asynchronous work habits.

Work Location(s) & Travel Requirements: 

This position is open to the following office location:

  • San Francisco, CA - in office 3-4 days/week 

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.

Salary: 

The estimated salary range for this position is $54.90/hour to $65.88/hour. 

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly's equity and discretionary bonus programs.
