Job description

Ecommerce Organic Growth Specialist
Location: St. Charles, MO (100% On-Site) Department: Marketing / Ecommerce Reports To: Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Schedule: Full-Time | Flexible Schedule
Drive Growth for a Brand Trusted by Those Who Serve
At Propper, we don't just sell apparel-we equip military personnel, law enforcement officers, first responders, and hardworking professionals with gear they rely on when performance matters most. For more than 50 years, our products have earned the trust of those who serve, protect, and perform in demanding environments.
As we continue to accelerate our direct-to-consumer growth, we're looking for an ambitious, data-driven marketer to help shape the future of our digital presence. This is an opportunity to take ownership of organic growth initiatives, influence brand visibility across emerging AI search platforms, and create meaningful connections with a passionate customer community.
If you're energized by the challenge of growing traffic, improving search visibility, creating engaging content, and turning insights into action, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Own
As our Ecommerce Organic Growth Specialist, you'll be responsible for driving qualified traffic, customer engagement, and ecommerce revenue through a combination of SEO, content strategy, AI search optimization, and organic social media.
You'll partner closely with Ecommerce, Merchandising, Product, and Creative teams to ensure our digital experiences not only attract customers but convert them.
Key Areas of Focus:
Organic Search & Ecommerce Growth
  • Develop and execute strategies that increase organic traffic, visibility, and revenue.
  • Lead SEO initiatives including keyword research, content optimization, technical recommendations, and performance analysis.
  • Improve product detail pages, category pages, and landing pages to maximize discoverability and conversion.
  • Identify content opportunities that support our customers throughout their buying journey.
  • Analyze performance trends and uncover actionable opportunities using Google Analytics, Search Console, and SEO tools.

AI Search & Emerging Discovery Platforms
  • Help position Propper for success within AI-powered search experiences.
  • Implement Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) best practices.
  • Conduct competitive audits and identify opportunities to increase brand visibility across traditional and AI-driven search environments.

Organic Social Media & Community Building
  • Own Propper's organic social media presence across key platforms.
  • Develop engaging content that reflects our brand, products, and customer community.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to source authentic field-use, product education, and lifestyle content.
  • Foster meaningful engagement with customers while building trust, loyalty, and brand advocacy.
  • Measure performance and continuously optimize content strategies based on audience insights.
What Makes You Successful
You're equal parts strategist and executor. You enjoy diving into analytics, but you're equally excited about creating content that resonates with real people. You understand how search, content, ecommerce, and social media work together to drive business growth and customer engagement.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy solving problems, and take pride in owning projects from concept through execution.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in ecommerce marketing, SEO, organic growth, content marketing, or social media management.
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce SEO and content optimization best practices.
  • Experience managing organic social media for a consumer-facing brand.
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEO platforms, and social analytics tools.
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of organization and accountability.

Preferred Experience
  • Military, law enforcement, tactical, outdoor, workwear, or performance apparel industries.
  • Magento ecommerce platform experience.
  • Conversion rate optimization (CRO) and onsite merchandising.
  • Collaboration with creative teams on photo and video production.
  • Familiarity with AI search optimization and emerging search technologies.

Why This Role Matters
This isn't a maintenance role-it's a growth role. You'll have a direct impact on how customers discover, engage with, and purchase from Propper. Your work will influence ecommerce revenue, brand visibility, customer engagement, and the future direction of our digital marketing efforts.
The right candidate will have the opportunity to build programs, test new ideas, influence strategy, and help shape how a respected American brand continues to grow in an evolving digital landscape.
