Job description

  • Serve as database analyst and administrator for the Institute's Oracle based ERP system and other databases.
  • This is a critical position for the Institute that allows for carrying out the day to day activities of the Institute.
  • Provide assistance in resolving issues and maintaining the core Oracle database environment as well as ERP software, Deltek Costpoint and other supplemental applications as needed.
  • Work with a team to evaluate new technologies such as cloud and new Oracle architecture features.

  • Provide support to the ERP, Deltek's Costpoint product, to include upgrades, troubleshooting, and initiation of support calls.
  • Database responsibilities include providing support to Oracle system maintenance, database backups & restores, and database upgrade tasks. For an on-premises Oracle environment on a UNIX platform.
  • Evaluate cloud technologies to support database instances.
  • Assist in the performing performance monitoring and tuning on Oracle databases.

  • Requires a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related degree field within Information Technology. In lieu of a Bachelors degree, a High School Diploma or equivalent with continuing education and related certifications plus 10 years of directly related professional level experience is required.
  • 6 years: Experience as an Oracle database administrator, or in a supporting role to database administration. Tasks supported to include performing installs, upgrades and migrations of Oracle software in an Enterprise environment on a UNIX/Linux based platform.
  • 1 years: Customer experience interfacing with end users in support of an ERP system or application. Ability to interface and facilitate issues with the ERP with end users and vendor.
  • 1 years: Experience or working knowledge with the use of Oracle's RMAN, and Data Guard products for high availability and disaster recovery.
  • 1 years: Experience or working knowledge with hosting databases in the cloud, and with Oracle Weblogic Application Server preferred. Experience with Costpoint a plus.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
