ABOUT THE ROLE

The Maintenance Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the maintenance department. This position is responsible for maintaining maintenance records, managing work orders, coordinating equipment service activities, tracking spare parts inventory, and assisting with purchasing and vendor communications. The Maintenance Coordinator also supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of preventive maintenance programs by creating and maintaining equipment asset records, preventive maintenance procedures, inspection checklists, and maintenance schedules within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). This role plays a critical part in improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and extending the service life of plant assets.

WHAT YOULL DO

  • Administer and maintain the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Coordinate and track preventive maintenance and repair work orders to ensure timely completion.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance procedures, schedules, and equipment records.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to optimize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor maintenance performance, analyze equipment issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for equipment, inspections, warranties, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate service activities with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, purchasing, and vendor communications.
  • Support safety and regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA) through proper recordkeeping and maintenance practices.
  • Prepare reports related to maintenance performance, costs, and inventory usage.
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support to the maintenance department.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and directly related maintenance, manufacturing, or CMMS experience will be given full consideration in lieu of formal educational requirements.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance administration, inventory control, manufacturing support, CMMS administration, or related industrial environments preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience with CMMS software required or strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
  • Frequent use of computers, telephones, and office equipment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to access production, maintenance, storage, and outdoor work areas.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in manufacturing areas

This position is primarily office-based but regularly interacts with maintenance and production personnel within an active precast concrete manufacturing facility. The employee may be exposed to dust, noise, vibration, moving equipment, heavy machinery, and varying weather conditions when entering plant and yard areas. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times in designated production and maintenance areas.
