Job description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Branch Operations and Development Representative processes a wide range of financial transactions for customers, sells negotiable instruments, cross-sells Bank products, and suggests possible services. This position answers questions, builds relationships with customers, and handles all preparations for customers to begin receiving services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provides services to consumers and business accounts, including assessing customer needs and cross-sells appropriate products and services. This duty is performed daily.

2. Opens accounts including checking, savings, CDs, IRAs, and other products offered by the bank. This duty is performed daily.

3. Prepares new loan requests to submit to loan processing. This duty is performed daily.

4. Orders supporting documentation and ensures its arrival. This duty is performed daily.

5. Processes draw requests, loan payments, and transfers. This duty is performed as needed.

6. Prepares loan package for shipping and booking. This duty is performed as needed.

7. Performs loan origination, portfolio management, and processing. This duty is performed weekly.

8. Tracks and monitors all required documents and packets. This duty is performed as needed.

9. Closes and funds loans when required. This duty is performed daily.

10. Reviews completed LOM for accuracy and submits to loan operations. This duty is performed daily.

11. Participates in clearing collateral and credit exceptions. This duty is performed daily.

12. Reviews and verifies loan files are complete and meets established standards. This duty is performed as needed.

13. Pulls maturity and past-due reports. This duty is performed as needed.

14. Refers new business to company subsidiaries, such as insurance, mortgage, and brokerage. This duty is performed as needed.

15. Connects with referrals made by other team members. This duty is performed as needed.

16. Accompanies commercial lenders on calls to build and retain customer relationships. This duty is performed as needed.

17. Resolves customer concerns and ensures effective long-term problem resolution. This duty is performed as needed.

18. Provides ancillary services such as notary services. This duty is performed as needed.

19. Responds to customer inquiries relating to products, rates, and services promptly and professionally to ensure friendly and efficient customer service. This duty is performed daily.

20. Supports and contributes to the attainment of branch goals. This duty is performed daily.

21. Maintains a positive, friendly, and professional attitude and appearance. This duty is performed daily.

22. Represents the Bank by attending, volunteering and participating in community, and networking events. This duty is performed as needed.

23. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. This duty is performed daily.

24. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. This duty is performed quarterly.

25. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence. ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization. Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business/company related articles and professional journals; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
