About this position
McPherson College seeks a strategic and collaborative leader to serve as Executive Director of Operations. This role provides campus-wide leadership for facilities operations, capital projects, information technology coordination, enterprise systems, and institutional property management.
The Executive Director is responsible for long-range planning, project management, capital improvement projects, operational budgeting, and ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant campus environments. This position supervises multiple operational departments and works closely with senior leadership to support the College's mission and future growth.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as project manager for new construction
  • Lead capital projects, deferred maintenance, and campus planning initiatives
  • Oversee facilities operations including maintenance, custodial, and grounds
  • Provide administrative oversight of IT infrastructure coordination and ERP systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and accessibility regulations
  • Manage operating and capital budgets and vendor relationships
  • Supervise cross-functional operational teams

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in facilities management, construction management, engineering, business administration, or a related field
  • 5-10+ years of progressive leadership in facilities, operations, or project management
  • Experience with budgeting, team leadership, and complex organizational systems
  • Higher education or institutional experience preferred
