JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:  

If you are looking for a career in sales, Vertiv's Sales Development Program (SDP) is designed for you. This program builds future sales professionals within our sales team by providing recent college graduates the opportunity to learn foundational sales skills- acquiring experience, owning key tasks, advancing leadership skills, and gaining exposure to senior leadership. 

You will spend the first year in inside sales learning the basics of Vertiv's products, systems, and processes. In the second year you will gain exposure to various selling motions and sales disciplines within the company through rotational assignments - putting you on the fast track to outside sales. 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Training to become an expert of Vertiv's various solutions (i.e. AC power products, Thermal products, services, etc.) 
  • Assisting with approvals of customization of Vertiv's products/solutions
  • Participating in inbound and outbound calls to Vertiv's customers to determine/discuss customer's needs and requirements. 
  • Responding to Requests for Proposal from Vertiv's customers/prospects 
  • Interacting with Sales Leaders on a regular basis  
  • Working with various sales tools such as Product configurators, proposal development tools, MS Power BI, etc. 
  • Traveling to Field Sales offices and supporting customer-facing meetings 
  • Partnering with Vertiv Sales Leaders who focus on specific Vertical Industries (i.e. Healthcare, Retail, Education, Finance and Government) 
  • Conducting presentations/training sessions with colleagues and Sales teams

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be prepared to be placed in a sales role, where they will apply their training and experience to drive customer relationships, business growth, and long-term career success at Vertiv.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Sales, or related field required.  
  • Strong communication skills - including written and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, and MS Office. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, including the ability to balance multiple priorities. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and detail-oriented mindset. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and implement process solutions with objective, measurable results. 
  • Adaptable with the desire to learn and advance. 

POSITION ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: 

  • This position will be located onsite at one of the company's central Ohio locations. 
  • Travel may be required, up to 10%. 
  • Strong desire to pursue a career in sales with the ability to relocate if required upon completion of the program.
