About I Support the Girls (ISTG)

I Support the Girls (ISTG) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to collecting and distributing essential items, including gently used bras, new underwear, and menstrual hygiene products, to women and folks experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, recovering from natural disasters, or otherwise in need. Over the past decade, ISTG has partnered with more than 5,000 social service organizations and 400+ businesses to help restore dignity to those we serve.

About the Internship

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive volunteer to join us this summer and support our warehouse staff in making an impact. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world nonprofit experience across multiple operational areas, including volunteer and warehouse management, administrative assistance, data organization, and community outreach.

By the end of the summer, you’ll have a solid foundation in nonprofit operations and firsthand experience in what it takes to support a dynamic, multi-faceted organization.

Responsibilities

  • Learn about ISTG’s mission, language, and purpose through an onboarding period.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including managing general inquiries via our info inbox, logging donations and donor information in AirTable, and cleaning up duplicate data.
  • Support volunteer and community engagement by helping manage volunteer groups, guiding them through donation sorting, and reaching out to local social service organizations to coordinate donation pickups.
  • Assist warehouse staff in sorting and organizing donations to keep our space efficient and functional.
  • Capture photos, videos, and occasional TikTok/Reel content to support our Digital Engagement Coordinator in showcasing our impact.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Availability preferred between 9 AM – 5 PM, Monday through Friday (flexible upon discussion).
  • Comfortable appearing on social media when needed.
  • Internship start date is flexible (seeking summer interns from mid-May through August).
