General Laborer - Industrial Safety Support
OnPoint Industrial Services provides safety and operational support services to clients across a wide range of industrial environments, including power plants, steel mills, refineries, manufacturing facilities, and construction sites.
The General Laborer - Industrial Safety Support role supports daily operations on industrial job sites and within various facilities. This position is designed for individuals looking to gain hands-on industrial experience, structured training, and a long-term career path in safety services. While this role begins as general labor support, employees will be trained to assist with safety operations, including safety monitoring and confined space support functions. There are opportunities for certification, skill development, and advancement into specialized safety and field leadership roles.
No prior industrial or safety experience is required - OnPoint provides training, certifications, and hands-on development.
This role offers opportunities for travel, overtime, and career advancement within a growing safety-focused organization.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with safety support functions for high-risk work environments, including confined spaces, after completing required training
  • Maintain awareness of job site conditions and follow all safety procedures and site-specific requirements
  • Conduct basic inspections of work areas for potential hazards before, during, and after shifts
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and site personnel
  • Assist in the warehouse with equipment preparation, staging, inspections, inventory, and training activities when not assigned to field work
Physical Demands
  • Must be physically able to perform assigned work in industrial environments
  • Ability to access all areas of a job site, which may include heights, stairs, ladders, uneven surfaces, or extreme outdoor conditions
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, talk, see, and hear
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver's license required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to pass a drug test and background check
  • Completion of required training and certifications provided by OnPoint
  • Ability to travel to various job sites as needed, including short-notice assignments
  • Flexible availability to work varying schedules, as work opportunities may arise with little advance notice
Job Details
  • Job Type: Part-time with potential for full-time
  • Pay: $20/hour
  • Work Location: In person
  • Schedule May Include:
    • 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts
    • Day, afternoon, or overnight shifts
    • Monday through Friday, Weekends, overtime, and on-call as needed
