Job description

Responsibilities


  • Evaluate incoming research requests and deliver high-quality outputs aligned with complexity, required data, and time or budget constraints.
  • Utilize authoritative primary sources with transparent attribution and clear labeling of AI-generated content versus analyst-verified conclusions.
  • Exercise professional judgment to validate research results and maintain the exceptional quality standards expected of legal deliverables.
  • Manage the workflow of incoming requests to ensure timely and accurate information delivery.
  • Train new staff and business professionals on specialized research tools and processes through one-on-one and customized instruction.
  • Obtain documents from courts and government agencies using online databases and third-party vendors as needed.
  • Work directly with internal leadership and external clients to address complex research requests and support specific project needs.
  • Coordinate interlibrary loan efforts for specialized articles and texts not available in the internal physical collection.
  • Establish and maintain customized alert profiles to track legislative and regulatory developments, corporate news, industry trends, and practice-relevant events.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations on electronic resources to aid in collection development, reference, and organizational awareness initiatives.
  • Provide client intake research support, including background checks and competitive intelligence on current or potential markets.
  • Maintain professional knowledge by attending educational events, vendor training, reviewing industry publications, and participating in professional societies.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of (5) years of experience providing research services in a corporate legal department, or professional services organization.
  • Strong research skills with a deep understanding of research strategies across a wide range of legal and business areas. [1]
  • Expertise in public records resources, competitive intelligence tools, and state and federal legal information. [1]
  • Extensive experience utilizing standard legal research databases, court filing systems, and related subscription services. [1]
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail. [1]
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented, dynamic environment.
  • High level of responsiveness with the ability to meet deadlines and adjust to shifting priorities while managing multiple projects.
