Our Function
The Sustainability Research Associate will play a key role in supporting Jennison's responsible investment efforts. The candidate will be an integral part of the sustainability team in execution of research, ESG integration, portfolio analysis, client related requests, reporting and stewardship activities. This role will act as a key liaison between the Sustainability team and various departments within Jennison, including investment teams, client teams, technology, legal, compliance, and other cross-functional areas.
Your Impact
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Actively contribute to the team's bottom up fundamental research activities, including data analysis, written research notes, company and sector assessments, and white papers.
  • Conduct analysis that links sustainability-related factors to business fundamentals, valuation, risk, and long-term investment outcomes.
  • Develop and perform portfolio analysis to assist in the team's integration efforts
  • Support stewardship activities, including company engagements, tracking, documentation, proxy-related analysis, and assessment of issuer progress on financially material sustainability topics.
  • Work cross functionally with the investment teams, sales/marketing, compliance/legal/risk and technology on sustainability-related requests and projects
  • Assist with the firm's internal and external sustainability reporting and client-related requests
  • Assist with ad hoc or strategic projects, which may include analyses related to climate/emissions, PRI reporting, SFDR requirements, materiality mapping, engagement & proxy, and third-party vendors and peers
  • Stay updated with industry trends and the latest advancements in ESG data/applications of sustainable investing and AI tools/resources
  • Adhere to the firm's mandatory hybrid work model, which requires in-person attendance at the primary office location on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to support collaboration, mentorship and team development. Remote work is permitted on Mondays and Fridays.

Your Required Skills / Job Requirements & Qualifications:
Your required skills must include:
  • 1-3+ years of experience in an analyst role within the finance industry (i.e., asset management, sustainable investment, investment banking) or similar role
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Advanced in excel and data analytics (financial modeling experience preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly analytical, inquisitive, organized and detail oriented
  • Strong capability to time manage and multi-task in order to meet tight deadlines and deliverables
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • CFA or progress toward a CFA preferred

The base salary range for this role is $110,000 - $150,000. Individual salaries for this role may vary based on various factors including but not limited to, years of experience, range in corporate level, candidate skills, and geographic location. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including but not limited to, individual and organizational performance.
