American Road Group is seeking a General Sales Manager at Orlando Harley-Davidson South in Kissimmee, FL!

The General Sales Manager is responsible for managing employees and operations within the Sales and Finance departments while maximizing vehicle sales and Finance & Insurance performance. This position works closely with dealership leadership and employees to achieve sales and financial goals, maintain inventory, develop team members, and provide the highest level of customer service.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maximize vehicle sales and Finance & Insurance performance at or above budgeted plan.\
  • Attain monthly financial targets by selling all available Finance & Insurance products to new and used motorcycle purchasers.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Sales and Finance departments.
  • Hire, train, motivate, and develop Sales and Finance department employees.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to department employees.
  • Work with Sales Managers and sales staff to ensure customers receive accurate information and are properly introduced to the F&I process.
  • Maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction and ensure an exceptional customer experience throughout the sales and finance process.
  • Manage dealership inventory and work with leadership to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Business Office operations, including the preparation and submission of required paperwork.
  • Act as a liaison to all departments in matters concerning Finance and Insurance.
  • Obtain and process all necessary documents required or requested by lenders or State Regulation.
  • Ensure all customer records and personal information are stored in a manner that protects customer privacy.
  • Contact customers using mailing lists, ticklers, files, and personal follow-up to encourage additional sales and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Handle customer complaints quickly and courteously, demonstrating empathy, a positive attitude, and our commitment to "making things right."
  • Monitor department performance and work toward achieving or exceeding budgeted sales, finance, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Maintain strong communication and collaboration between Sales, Finance, and other dealership departments.
  • Utilize dealer management system software and other dealership technology effectively.
  • Exemplify American Road Group's Core Values and Commitment to Success.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Five years of progressive experience as a Sales Manager, Finance Manager, or similar dealership management experience; Harley-Davidson or powersports experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience with retail sales and inventory management.
  • Knowledge and experience with sales of Finance & Insurance products and other products sold by the dealership, or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn them.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated "closing" skills.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to hire, train, motivate, and develop employees.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Outgoing, approachable, and personable personality.
  • Experience with dealer management system software.
  • Strong multitasking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Sales, Finance, and other dealership departments.
  • Valid driver's license with motorcycle endorsement.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, sit, stand, push, and pull.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • Requires the ability to balance and push a 600+ lb. motorcycle.
  • Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Potential exposure to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning materials, or other materials in the dealership environment.
  • Occasionally exposed to exhaust fumes and other airborne particles.
