POSITION SUMMARY: Unloading rail cars into conveying and bulk storage. Loading of customer trucks, weighing, and ticketing same trucks. Measuring inventory, reconciling daily scale tickets and entering data on a daily basis. Does daily cleanup, routine maintenance and preventive maintenance of terminal equipment. Inspects area and equipment for safety issues. Records and corrects defects. Able to perform basic administrative functions and be able to backfill the terminal manager when he/she is absent.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:


Primary duties will include but not limited to unloading and cleaning out rail cars, loading pneumatic trailer and dump trucks, performing clean up and basic administrative functions, such as scaling out and reconciling mass shipped against inventory:
1. Know, understand and observe all safety rules.
2. Maintain a high level of housekeeping in assigned work areas.
3. Ability to safely run skid steer, fork truck, and other light vehicles.
4. Understand material flow of terminal and operation of conveying and feeding equipment and dust collectors.
5. Must be or be able to obtain certification as a weighmaster in South Carolina.
6. Recognize potential safety issues in your area of responsibility (AOR) and report on daily check-sheets.
7. Must be able to understand equipment manuals and be able to spec and order parts.
8. Measure bin inventory levels from tops of bins.
9. Clean up under and around conveying and feeding equipment; maintain interior of scale house and office.
10. Must be trainable in learning how to enter operating data and scale information into computer systems.
11. Trustworthy with company property and accounts.
12. Comply with company, state, and governmental health and safety regulations.
13. Perform all tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

ATTRIBUTES:
Must be capable of working any shift, overtime, be on-call, or work seven days a week, if needed.
Must be able to multi task with a strong sense of urgency to meet the customer needs.
Must be able to work well within a team environment and take instructions from management and co-workers.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently.
Must possess the basic reading and math skills.
Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
Must possess basic computer skills on how to use MS Office products and SAP.
Strong record of attendance reliability.
Must know, understand and observe all department and plant safety rules and maintain a high level of housekeeping in assigned work areas.
Must be capable of performing the essential job duties required of this job.

Must be physically able to perform work assigned.
Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations.
Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
Will be working at times in covered environment but mainly in a lime/mineral environment.
The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Lime/Mineral Particles.
The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.
Ability to occasionally lift/carry 56 pounds.
Ability to push/pull a maximum force of 90 pounds.

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Education: Technical training or AA degree in technical related field is desired.

Required Experience: Experience in an industrial environment with bulk material handling, storage, and shipping.
Preferred Experience: 1-2 years. Previous heavy manufacturing and/or mining experience is highly preferred. Previous heavy equipment experience is desired.
