Job Summary

The Janitorial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily janitorial operations within assigned airport facilities to ensure all cleaning services are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company and client standards. This role provides direct leadership to janitorial team members, monitors productivity and quality, ensures compliance with safety procedures, and supports employee training and development.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills, and is committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and professional operation.

Job Type: FT/PT

Shift: Multiple shifts available, including overnight, weekends, and holidays

Janitorial Supervisor Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead janitorial team members during assigned shifts
  • Ensure all assigned cleaning tasks are completed according to company and client standards
  • Conduct routine inspections of work areas to ensure cleanliness, quality, and safety compliance
  • Assign daily work tasks and monitor employee productivity and attendance
  • Train new employees on cleaning procedures, safety practices, chemical handling, and proper use of equipment
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, airport security requirements, and company policies
  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and notify leadership of replenishment needs
  • Address employee performance concerns and provide coaching, corrective action, and ongoing support as needed
  • Maintain accurate operational documentation, shift reports, and attendance records
  • Respond professionally to operational issues, client concerns, and urgent cleaning needs
  • Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Support staffing coverage and operational continuity during call-offs or high-volume periods
  • Report maintenance concerns, damages, or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel
  • Maintain janitorial closets and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition
  • Perform additional operational duties as assigned by management
Janitorial Supervisor Requirements & Qualifications
  • Previous janitorial, custodial, or facility cleaning experience required
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced airport environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and safe chemical usage
  • Ability to train, coach, and motivate employees
  • Dependable with strong attendance and follow-through
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical work for extended periods
