Are you passionate about supporting mothers, newborns, and families during one of life's most meaningful moments? Mercy Hospital STL is seeking a dedicated OB Technician to join our Labor & Birth team. In this vital role, you'll provide compassionate care and technical support to OB patients, assist in surgical procedures, and ensure smooth unit operations.
You'll work closely with our nursing and medical staff, contributing to a collaborative and caring environment. From assisting with deliveries to supporting new parents and their babies, your work will make a lasting impact.
Location: Mercy Hospital St. Louis - Ballas Campus
Department: Labor & Birth
Schedule: Two 12-hour shifts/week + weekend & holiday rotation (shift TBD)Position Details:

🛠 What You'll Do:

  • Provide patient care and support for OB, postpartum, and pediatric patients
  • Assist in surgical procedures and obstetrical emergencies
  • Perform clinical and clerical tasks, including phlebotomy, specimen transport, glucose checks, and birth certificate entry
  • Support daily operations: patient registration, bed turnover, supply management, and more
  • Participate in a 175-hour paid training program (if no prior experience)
  • Complete PCA competencies within 3 months of hire

🎓 Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required
  • Experience: Surgical Technology experience preferred; competency training available
  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) required within 1 month of hire
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
