JOB OVERVIEW

  • Director of Nutrition - Inpatient Eating Disorder Care Center
  • Contract assignment: 13 week assignment; Temp-to-Hire Contract
  • Location: Cordova, TN 38018
  • Schedule:Full time, 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Nutrition is responsible for providing nutrition team supervision for all members of the nutrition team, including but not limited to registered dietitians, chefs/production staff, food acquisitions manager, administrative assets assigned to the nutrition team. When required, the Director of Nutrition will provide individualized nutritional treatment services for adult and adolescent women with eating disorders in a residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient setting. Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, the Director of Nutrition will coordinate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive nutrition services that lead to successful treatment outcomes. The Director of Nutrition will provide services and client care in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Nutrition team leadership and strategy development
    • Hire, train, supervise, and coach all members of the nutrition team or delegates such duties to ensure effective and efficient execution of the nutrition strategy
    • Develop and coordinate therapeutic/medical dietary orders with the Medical director and Director of Nursing
    • Work closely with business office, BHTs, and clinical team to implement policies and procedures efficiently and effectively
    • Ensure nutrition strategy meets requirements and expectations of Academy of Eating Disorders, International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp), Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and similar authoritative organizations
  • Staff Oversight
    • Provide weekly supervision and case consultation to nutrition team and executive chef
    • Develop and implement training on policies and procedures for supervised eating events
    • Direct and contribute to menu and recipe development and modification/optimization
    • Coordinate with executive Chef to ensure special diet orders (e.g. food allergies, intolerances, and other medical nutrition therapies) are ordered and implemented clearly
    • Ensure nutrition team members complete all required documentation and reports in a timely manner, maintaining compliance with the policies and procedures of the facility and Joint Commission accreditation requirements
  • Clinical Services for Residential Clients
  • Completes a comprehensive nutritional assessment for all assigned clients and reviews comprehensive nutrition assessments completed by RDs
  • Develop, supervise, and facilitate nutrition and meal processing groups weekly
  • Directs, supervises, and participates in supported food exposures and weekly meal group with clients in and out of the facility
  • Eat, at minimum, three meals and three snacks with clients weekly
  • Coordinate care with client's outpatient treatment team
Administrative Duties:
  • Develop and maintain nutrition component of EHR, including but not limited to nutrition assessments, progress notes, meal and snack notes, & pre and post processing sheets
  • Utilize EHR to document client care/contact in a timely manner in accordance with center policy
  • Documentation as required for clinical, human resources, training needs of self and staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and 2+ years' experience working as a RD with eating disorder clients.
  • Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in the State of Tennessee (or ability to be licensed within 6 weeks of hire).
  • Graduate degree, PhD preferred
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary treatment team (specifically withthe eating disorder population is highly preferred).
  • Must be passionate about working with the eating disorder population.
  • Previous management/supervisory experience preferred
