Nature of Work:The Fan Marketing & Brand Strategy Manager for the Colorado Avalanche is a key member of the Avs Fan Marketing & Brand Strategy team that helps drive revenue through innovative advertising, promotions, and data-driven strategies while safeguarding the integrity of the Avs brand. This role focuses on fan acquisition, database growth, and leveraging analytics to optimize marketing performance. Acting as the primary liaison to the team's agency of record and collaborating internally with ticket sales, creative services, business intelligence, and KSE media teams, the Fan Marketing & Brand Strategy Manager works to increase brand visibility, accelerate business growth, and deepen engagement across audiences.
Examples of work performed:
Fan Acquisition & Database Growth
  • Develops and implements strategies to grow the Avalanche's fanbase through targeted digital campaigns, lead generation, and acquisition efforts
  • Collaborates with Business Intelligence to analyze fan data, segment audiences, and personalize marketing efforts for increased engagement and conversion
  • Reviews data and tracks acquisition performance to improve lifecycle marketing efforts
  • Works with Business Intelligence to grow the Avalanche's email databases, distribute timely and relevant eblasts, and analyze insights to make decisions
Advertising & Promotions
  • Develops and executes integrated marketing programs and advertising strategies to promote team initiatives, events, and ticket sales across multiple channels
  • Serves as the day-to-day contact for the agency of record and other partners, ensuring flawless execution of the season-long media plan
  • Monitors and optimizes advertising campaigns in real time to ensure accuracy and maximize impact
  • Uses data analytics to measure performance, refine strategies, and drive ROI
  • Reviews and recaps marketing initiatives, delivering actionable insights and recommendations for future campaigns
Collaboration
  • Builds and maintains strong cross-functional relationships to maximize institutional assets, including Altitude Sports, KSE Radio, in-venue marketing, and cross-team inventory
  • Owns the distribution of promotional messaging, ensuring consistent tone and positioning across all channels
  • Works with ticket sales on goals, revenue, ticket initiatives, promotional packages, and single game ticket strategy to maximize ROI
Creative
  • Reviews and approves the usage of Avalanche brand marks to ensure adherence to brand guidelines
  • Manages influencer marketing strategy to drive brand exposure, unique content opportunities, and fan engagement
Management
  • Mentors and develops team members, with a focus on the Marketing Coordinator and Intern, fostering growth and collaboration.
Miscellaneous
  • Required to work some nights and/or weekends for Avalanche games and events as scheduled
  • Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

Qualifications:
  • Minimum
    • BS/BA degree in marketing, advertising, journalism, mass communication, or a similar field
    • 4+ years' experience in marketing, advertising, media, etc.
    • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire
    • Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a valid driver's license and meet company vehicle driving standards
  • Preferred
    • Experience working in the sports and entertainment industry and/or third-party agency as a marketing manager, coordinator, or account manager
    • Experience managing and/or mentoring direct reports driving performance through goal setting, feedback, and professional development.
