Job Title: Ticket Sales Intern

Department: Ticket Sales

Supervisor: Sr. Director, Group Sales

Job Classification: Non-Exempt

Job Type: Part-Time, 29 Hours per Week (September - December)


Summary:

The mission of the Boston Celtics internship program is to educate its participants in all aspects of operating a professional sports organization. Through observation and practical experience, interns learn how to function in a professional environment that requires a high energy level, the ability to perform under pressure and the utilization of essential time management skills. Through these developments, the Boston Celtics strive to successfully prepare their interns to compete for positions in the professional sports industry.


Responsibilities:

  • Learn and implement outbound sales, including email and phone communication with past Celtics ticket buyers
  • Assist Group Sales with preparing for game nights, including assembling and packaging giveaways and souvenir items
  • Answer fan questions via phone and email
  • Staff front desk, as needed
  • Support activation of client benefit programs, including sponsored programs and gifting
  • Organize, document, and manage waivers and releases, as necessitated by legal requirement, such as on-court fan experiences and suite rental agreements
  • Prospect new business via internet research
  • Learn and execute tasks in ticketing system and CRM database
  • Monitor accuracy of sales reports
  • Manage Club Green email inbox
  • Screen ticket sales voicemail and distribute


Game Night Responsibilities:


  • Assist Group Sales with executing on-court Fan Experiences, including participant arrival, entering the arena, and getting to and from the court. Timing could be pre-game, in-game and post-game.
  • Assist Sales Department with set-up, execution and break-down of sales events
  • Complete seat visits as needed, including suite rentals, group leaders and family packs
  • Learn and operate Sales Table, including answering questions from fans about ticket packages, arena information, etc.


Requirements:


  • Must be a junior or senior undergraduate student or graduate student
  • Academic Credit
  • Ability to work scheduled home games and events


The expected range of annual salary/hourly rate and potential commission, if applicable, is included below. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this/these range(s) will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market and industry considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure, performance, and standing with the company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.

Hourly Rate Range: $15.00
