Overview
The Sales and Marketing departments are looking for a creative, outgoing, hard-working, dependable, independent thinker who has the desire to work in sales and marketing, and is excited to support awareness of the NOW Arena and Hideaway Brew Garden sales and marketing initiatives. The Arena Marketing & Sales Intern will learn about sales and marketing for a wide range of events. The internship will provide experience in sales, customer service, ticket operations, social media, online/internet aspects of marketing, grassroots tactics and fulfillment experience in sports and entertainment operations.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $20.00.
This role is expected to last from May 11th, 2026 and will end on August 14th, 2026.
This position will remain open until June 26, 2026.
Responsibilities
  • Marketing research that will require making phone calls, emailing, searching the internet, and conducting meetings with various individuals within the market.
  • Participate in developing and implementing event marketing plans and promotions.
  • Participate in developing and implementing sales and service initiatives for Basketball, graduations, family shows and concerts.
  • Assisting with grassroots marketing, including creation and distribution of flyers, hanging posters, tabling and creating relationships with various retailers to promote events.
  • Brainstorming ideas for revenue generating events at the NOW Arena.
  • Assist in managing the Arena's various social media sites - Facebook, X, Instagram and Tik Tok.
  • Provide unsurpassed customer service to prospects and current clients over the phone, in the office and at games or other events.
  • Conducting demographic and psychographic research for various events and projects.
  • Attend meetings with potential partners and learn to execute marketing with third-party partnerships.
  • Interact with NOW Arena staff when working on various projects.
  • E-mail management, website management and venue reporting.
  • Perform variety of event day responsibilities within the Marketing Department.
  • Assist with updating guest lists and event sheets.
  • Help with planning and organizing of various sales and service initiatives and programs.
  • Perform variety of event day responsibilities.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.

Key Learnings:
  • Learn how to plan and execute content calendars for a fast-paced entertainment environment.
  • Build practical experience in social media management and content publishing.
  • Assist with coordinating visual content creation including photo and influencer shoots.
  • Gain exposure to event-day logistics and marketing operations.
  • Develop data-driven decision-making skills through campaign tracking and analysis.

Qualifications
  • Must be a college junior, senior or graduate student.
  • Recommended for Sport Management, Marketing, Communications, Management, or Hospitality Majors.
  • Financial compensation is available, but housing and transportation are the responsibility of the student.
  • Availability to work 25 hours a week, including evenings and weekends.
  • Active involvement in on campus civic and/or leadership activities highly desired.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Acrobat Reader a plus.
  • Must have working knowledge of social media platforms, including Tik Tok.
  • Knowledge of how to effectively use the internet for research.
  • Well organized with ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
