Job description

The NFL Media office is seeking a Game Day Digital Programming Assistant to support the Digital Media Programming and Video teams. This role is responsible for Sunday highlight operations across NFL Owned and Operated platforms. Additionally, the Game Day Digital Programming Assistant position requires a creative thinker with the editorial expertise gained from a background in journalism. The ideal candidate for this position must have extraordinary knowledge of NFL teams, players and current storylines.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for watching live NFL games and identifying key moments, milestones and highlights to distribute to NFL platforms.
  • Respond to content request coming in from the Programming and Video teams 
  • Recognize key moments that should be highlighted that may not be included in a specific request
  • Proactively communicate with Programming & video teams to ensure we're capturing the right content
  • Publish content identified to our internal platform for both mobile and web
  • Responsible for creating titles, captions, applying metadata and programming video content across NFL digital properties

Required Qualifications

  • Vast knowledge of NFL teams, personnel and storylines
  • Must be available to work every Sunday of the NFL season, some in-season Holidays and some preseason games
  • Strong journalism skills (spelling, headline creation, grammar, etc.)
  • Elite communication and organization skills
  • Ability to multitask (watch live game, write headlines, communicate with programming staff, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Intermediate experience in digital media workflows (content creation, metadata, content programming)
  • Intermediate-to-advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • No video editing experience required

Other Key Attributes / Characteristics

  • Able to work in a fast-paced game day environment
  • Willing to learn quickly and think on their feet
  • Ability to learn new programs and web publishing

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • Part-Time - may work up to 29 hours per week given business need 
  • Seasonal - up to 7-month seasonal employment

Salary / Pay Range
