Job Description
The CBS Sports Social Media team creates and distributes content across CBS Sports, CBS Sports Network, and CBS Sports Digital's social media channels. We pride ourselves on developing creative concepts that break through the noise, engage fans, and highlight our brand's place in a competitive media landscape.
CBS Sports is looking for a NFL-obsessed content creator who lives and breathes the sport of football. The ideal candidate loves working behind-the-scenes and has a deep understanding of the league landscape - from the newest rookies to the established vets, trending storylines, massive moments and everything in between.
You must be a football fan and have a strong grasp of best practices across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter/X-as demonstrated by your portfolio of work. This role requires someone who can identify key moments, craft compelling content, and publish in real-time to maximize engagement with a global audience.
Role Details:
As a Social Media Coordinator for NFL on CBS, you will become the bridge between what fans see on TV and what they consume on social. You'll be responsible for working with our on-air talent to capture and create content that helps our premiere studio shows extend far beyond their live programming window. This role requires a strong awareness of social trends, a deep understanding of football culture, and the ability to craft platform-specific content that resonates with fans. Beyond in-studio content capture, you'll be expected to independently create graphics and videos to bring key stories to life. Whether it's quick-turn graphics in Photoshop or snappy video edits in Premiere, you should be comfortable executing high-quality, engaging content yourself. If you thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, know how to turn football's biggest moments into shareable content, and have the creative skills to make it happen, this role is for you.
Your Day-to-Day:
• Collaborate with NFL on CBS talent to produce and distribute engaging video content
• Conceive and execute original creative content that resonates with NFL fans
• Identify and capitalize on trending stories and impactful moments to drive engagement and conversation
• Create, publish, and manage real-time content from live matches, studio shows, and breaking football news
• Develop engaging, shareable social content tailored for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter/X, and Facebook
• Work alongside social designers to create editorial and promotional content from scratch
Qualifications:
• 0-1+ years of experience managing branded social media accounts with a focus on sports content
• Proactive awareness of latest social trends
• Proficiency in graphic design and video editing with a desire to improve and expand creative abilities
• A deep passion for NFL football - rosters, rules, stats, transactions, culture, history, the Draft, Training Camp, Free Agency, Fantasy and other universal themes of football fandom
• Experience creating and publishing content across all major social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter/X)
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends - specifically in studio on NFL Sundays and select on-site opportunities
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and react quickly to fast-moving news cycles
• Strong writing and storytelling skills with a sharp eye for detail and grammar
• Excellent communication and coordination skills, particularly in working with talent and teammates
If you're a football-obsessed social media expert who knows how to craft engaging content that captivates fans, we'd love to hear from you!
