What is the NFL 3 year rule?

The NFL 3-year rule states that college players are eligible for the NFL Draft three years after their high school graduation, meaning they cannot enter the draft until they have been out of high school for at least three years. This rule helps teams evaluate players' development and maturity before drafting them. It is a key eligibility requirement for players aspiring to join the NFL as a full-time athlete.

How much do you make in the NFL Draft?

The NFL Draft itself does not provide a salary; it is a process for selecting players. Once drafted, players sign contracts that vary based on draft position, with first-round picks typically earning higher signing bonuses and guaranteed money, often in the millions of dollars, while later picks earn less. Salaries are determined by the NFL's collective bargaining agreement and team negotiations.

How can I work the NFL Draft?

Working at the NFL Draft typically involves roles in event management, media, security, or hospitality, often requiring relevant experience, strong organizational skills, and knowledge of the event industry. Positions may be available through NFL contractors, event staffing agencies, or directly with the NFL, and may require background checks and adherence to specific schedules during the draft period.

What's the lowest paying job in the NFL?

In the NFL, the lowest paying roles are typically entry-level positions such as practice squad players or support staff, with practice squad players earning a minimum salary set by league rules, which is significantly lower than starting players. Support staff like equipment managers or administrative assistants also tend to have lower salaries compared to players, often reflecting entry-level wages in professional sports organizations.

Founded by the "Godfather of Fantasy Sports," Matthew Berry, Fantasy Life is a fast-growing sports media and gaming company built for passionate fans who want to win.
We deliver industry-leading content, tools, and data across fantasy football and daily fantasy contests - all powered by world-class creators and experts. In recent years, Fantasy Life expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of Guillotine Leagues, a unique fantasy football platform that combines skill-based gaming with a thrilling, season-long elimination game. Together, Fantasy Life and Guillotine Leagues give fans a one-stop destination for both consuming the best fantasy content and playing innovative fantasy games.
From cutting-edge data tools and NFL draft preparation resources to live streams, newsletters, and proprietary gaming experiences, Fantasy Life is committed to delivering the competitive edge fans need - while fostering a vibrant, engaged community that lives and breathes football.
About the role
Fantasy Life and Guillotine Leagues are looking for a dynamic, multi-platform Fantasy Football Content Creator to inform, entertain, and grow our passionate community of fantasy players. This is a full-time role for a proven fantasy voice who can operate across written, video, audio, and social formats - and who has the expertise to produce premium, best-in-class content covering all major fantasy football games, the NFL season, and the NFL Draft.
This person will represent Fantasy Life across multiple channels of media, support partners, and deliver traffic to the core aspects of Fantasy Life's business.
What you'll do
Written Content Creation
  • Produce high-quality written content covering fantasy football across all major games: redraft, PPR, best ball, dynasty, DFS, Guillotine Leagues, and the NFL Draft
  • Execute a mix of long-form evergreen articles and short-form news updates and daily pieces; all content must be human-created and authentically your own voice.
  • Contribute premium and paywalled content tailored to Fantasy Life subscribers and Guillotine Leagues players
  • Create and maintain accurate, timely player rankings across fantasy games
  • Provide actionable, accurate advice to the fantasy community - especially during high-stakes in-season decision windows (waiver wire, trade deadlines, playoff push, Guillotine elimination weeks)
  • Comfortable with creating content across multiple media (written, audio, video, social)
  • Able to hit deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of leveraging various tools for research
  • Willing to contribute to team initiatives
  • Work with the editorial team on SEO best practices and maintain strict adherence to deadlines - especially during the high-velocity NFL season and NFL Draft period

Multimedia Content
  • Host live shows covering fantasy football news, analysis, waiver wire targets, start/sit decisions, and Guillotine Leagues strategy
  • Appear in short-form video content (social clips, YouTube Shorts, TikToks, Reels) tailored to each platform's audience
  • Star in long-form video content including full YouTube episodes, draft prep videos, season preview shows, and deep-dive analysis
  • Participate in Fantasy Life's live streaming schedule as an on-camera analyst and personality
  • Appear regularly on Fantasy Life podcasts as an analyst and co-host, contributing expert takes and editorial perspective
  • Be available for recorded and live podcast formats across the NFL calendar - preseason, in-season, and the NFL Draft cycle

Personal Social Media & Audience
  • Maintain active, growing personal social media accounts across multiple platforms (X/Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, etc.) with an established following in the fantasy football space
  • Leverage your personal platforms to promote Fantasy Life content, tools, and Guillotine Leagues - driving traffic, signups, and community growth
  • Create platform-native content on your own channels that authentically integrates Fantasy Life and Guillotine Leagues into your existing voice and audience relationship
  • Identify trending NFL and fantasy topics in real time and be among the first to deliver sharp, shareable takes that funnel your audience back to Fantasy Life

Qualifications
  • Established fantasy football analyst credentials with a portfolio of published, audience-facing content
  • Deep expertise across all major fantasy games - redraft (standard and PPR), best ball, dynasty, DFS, and Guillotine Leagues, among others
  • Strong command of the NFL Draft, ADP trends, player valuation, and preseason evaluation
  • Proven ability to produce premium and paywalled content for a fantasy sports brand or subscription platform
  • Accurate, well-calibrated fantasy analysis with a track record of providing quality advice that moves the needle for real players
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a distinct, compelling on-air and editorial voice
  • Experience creating content across multiple formats: articles, player notes, news updates, rankings, video, live shows, and podcasts
  • Comfort in front of a camera - both in polished long-form shoots and raw, fast-turnaround social video
  • Active personal social media presence with an engaged following; demonstrated ability to drive audience behavior (clicks, signups, engagement) through your own channels
  • Self-starter who thrives in a remote environment and can manage a high-output content calendar independently
  • Strong time management with the ability to meet tight deadlines throughout the NFL season and NFL Draft cycle
  • Collaborative mindset - able to work closely with editorial, social, and product teams to serve Fantasy Life's audience and business goals

Bonus Qualifications
  • Having an existing audience or following in the fantasy sports space that is engaging
  • Experience with or strong interest in sports betting and prediction markets and how they intersect with fantasy football, the NFL, and more
  • Experience with tailoring video content that wins on YouTube, Meta properties, TikTok, etc
  • Familiarity with the Guillotine Leagues game and its unique in-season strategic demands
