POSITION TITLE: Lifeguard
SALARY: No less than $17.14 per hour
REPORTS TO: Aquatic Center Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have completed Red Cross Lifeguard/CPR courses
2. Be at least 15 years of age or older
3. Possess mobility to supervise up to 60 children in the water at one time.
ESSSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Skilled in verbal communication with both children and adults.
2. Available to work at least 10 hours every week.
3. Be able to work until midnight on certain weekends
4. Provide emergency first aid/CPR if needed.
5. Develop positive relationships with both students and parents
6. Provide a safe swimming environment for all the individuals that use the aquatic center
7. Maintain a clean and safe swimming pool
8. Clean the facility on a daily basis
9. Mobility to enter the pool from a stand and rescue a person that weighs up to 400 pounds
OTHER PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Work collaboratively with other staff members and management
2. Follow directions from the aquatic directors
3. Abide by Red Cross life guarding principles and ideals
