Job Description
Utilize advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices to be responsible for the execution of all key processes in New and Current Product space that influence Product Quality, including PPS, GPRP, and VPI. Lead Quality Process Management to ensure quality of products, processes and services. Drive actions and initiatives that help reduce cost of coverage for NRP & DBU, impacting profitability by ensuring product improvements are being deployed in the field for all Aftermarket products (first fit, recon/new and current product), and ensuring customer downtime is kept at a minimum. Drive improvements for CMI products included in the Aftermarket scope, including electrical, software and electronics. Ensure the process is delivering value to customers through effective measures and voice of the customer (VOC). Lead the NRP Signals Process and the Product Problem Solving process which help deploy solutions in the field. Lead the process for resolving customer quality issues such as corrective action requests, supplier corrective action requests, and nonconforming material reports. Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks. Confer with engineers, customers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects or products. Lead complex Advanced Product Quality Planning activities to ensure customer satisfaction. Lead all NRP new product introduction Infant Care plans and complex cross-business unit projects to deploy solutions. Represent NRP Product Quality within the Service Organization (EBU/PSBU & Components) and partner with the DBU and Customer Quality teams. Utilize electrical engineering methods and tools to determine the assignable cause of problems, create problem traceability, implement data-based solution, identify systemic root causes, and ensure actions to prevent problem recurrence are implemented. Lead change management activities and provide technical guidance for audits of processes and quality systems. Escalate any gaps in resources, requirements that prohibit operation of the process and ensure key process indicators are visible to the right stakeholders and that process performance is clearly communicated.
Responsibilities
Positions require a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience as a Controls, Systems, Service or Product Engineer, Product Technical Specialist or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience as a Controls, Systems, Service or Product Engineer, Product Technical Specialist or related position. Experience to include: Quality Process Management; Voice of the customer (VOC); Product Problem Solving process; Corrective action requests, supplier corrective action requests, and nonconforming material reports; Advanced Product Quality Planning; New product introduction Infant Care plans; Identify systemic root causes; Change management activities; Key process indicators.
