Description

We are seeking a motivated and innovative New Product Development Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be focused on the overall success of new product development and product design, strategy and forward-planning. This role requires a strong technical background, creativity, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Will collaborate with manufacturing to manage design specifications and process changes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage products through all phases of New Product Development process including establishing critical paths, collaborating with departments and suppliers and meeting quality guidelines and customer requirements
  • Collaborate with customers and suppliers to continuously improve speed and effectiveness in delivering profitable new product and manufacturing solutions
  • Accountable to ensure new product meet cost and manufacturing requirements as well as supports the company commitment to producing top quality products
  • New equipment evaluation/implementation to support new product development and manufacturing process improvement
  • Work with multiple groups, including quality engineers, quality systems, leadership team, planners to assure quality and on-time delivery to our customers
  • Integration of Lean techniques into the engineering and operations area
  • Maintain and organize detailed records of development activities including prototypes, data, reports and changes to design requirements
  • Prepare and implement written procedures and specifications related to new products or new processes
  • Evaluate, analyze, and make recommendations on products, designs, and cost improvements to improve the competitive position of the company
  • Evaluate robustness of new designs to variations in the manufacturing process; maximize yield by reducing product's sensitivity to process variation
  • Utilize Magma software to create computer-aided design; experiment with and analyze different materials, manufacturing processes, design tolerances and factors in the manufacture process

Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, strongly preferred
  • 3+ years' experience in product engineering or engineering intern role, preferred
  • Multi-disciplinary engineering and operations skill set, preferred
  • New product development experience, preferred
  • Project Management skills preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, BOM structure and change control processes
  • Knowledge of PPAP, Process FMEA's, product and process validation for manufacturing and implementation of execution plans
  • Effective communicator with the ability to interface at all levels within the organization
  • Self-motivated drive to help the team improve through people, process and technology
  • Capability to accurately and efficiently work on multiple projects within strict deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills, identify errors and deficiencies; able to think critically
  • Proficient computer skills
