Job description

Orgill is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Program Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will lead complex technology initiatives from inception through implementation, supporting Business and Technology leaders to develop strategies, translating them into actionable plans, and orchestrating their successful implementation across multiple teams and departments with high performance and adherence to best practices in SDLC, IT governance, and technology architecture. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee cross-functional teams, manage high-stakes projects, and drive successful transformation aligned with organizational goals. The Technical Program Manager must possess strong expertise in project management methodologies, professional services delivery, IT operations, and up-to-date knowledge of IT architectures. They must demonstrate exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with the agility, adaptability and versatility necessary to achieve successful outcomes in a growing, dynamic environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with Technology and Business leadership, technology teams, vendor partners, and business end users to orchestrate the planning, creation, management, and rollout of technology solutions.
  • Lead and coordinate multiple technical projects across various teams, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and organizational standards, in tandem with operational teams.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to capture functional and technical details necessary to support project scope, solution definitions, objectives, and success criteria.
  • Collaborate with vendors, internal technical teams and SMEs to develop work levels of effort, cost estimates and project budgets.
  • Apply situationally-appropriate life cycles and methodologies, including predictive, agile and lean, to advance projects, continuous improvements and other complementary work.
  • Oversee enterprise software implementations and SDLC, including analysis, design, testing, UAT, deployment, and post-implementation support.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans utilizing project management software tools; manage schedules, milestones, and deliverables; monitor and control costs.
  • Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies proactively; implement appropriate responses to both minimize impact and maximize benefit.
  • Facilitate communication among stakeholders at all levels, including technical teams, business units, and executive leadership, to ensure transparency and stakeholder engagement; prepare status reports, presentations, and documentation.
  • Employ Change Management methods to ensure effective stakeholder transitions through change journeys with minimal impact.
  • Coordinate with IT Infrastructure and Operations teams to ensure seamless transition of technology solutions into Orgill's technology ecosystems.
  • Ensure adherence to project management and enterprise architecture best practices.
  • Promote IT governance standards and compliance throughout project lifecycles; support organizational initiatives related to IT strategy and enterprise architecture.

Success Factors: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • A proven track record of successfully planning, implementing and deploying technical projects, including enterprise implementations.
  • Conversant and practiced in up-to-date Project Management Life Cycle methods and frameworks, with expert knowledge of both agile and traditional project management practices, project artifacts and documentation standards.
  • Strong proficiency in project scheduling and issue tracking tools, as well as office applications such as Google Workspace.
  • Solid understanding of information technology architecture, platforms and concepts, including SDLC, cloud computing, IT infrastructure, databases and integrations.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex technical issues, and interpret/convey them to a non-technical audience.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams; strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills for stakeholder engagement at all levels; adept at negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, effectively build interpersonal relationships, and achieve alignment across a wide range of functions and constituents.
  • Sound grasp of key business drivers and considerations in the technical domains.
  • Experience in the Distribution, Warehousing and/or Retail industry - Preferred.
  • Experience in Professional Services delivery - Preferred.
  • PMP or PMI-ACP certification - Advantageous.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience leading technical projects
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Experienced with Wrike, Jira, or similar project tracking tools.
  • Experience in Wholesale, Retail, and/or Distribution Warehousing
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing
  • Excellent customer service skills and delivery
  • Able to work in a team environment and unsupervised
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-motivated
  • Presents a professional image and professional conduct

Location & Work Schedule
Candidates located in the greater Memphis, TN area-including surrounding regions such as Arkansas, Nashville, MS, and St. Louis-are encouraged to apply. This role offers a hybrid schedule for those in surrounding areas, while candidates based in Memphis will be expected to work fully in-office.
