Job description

Description

wilsonbauhaus is looking for a driven, relationship-focused New Business Development Manager to help us grow our presence with Architecture & Design firms, Corporate Real Estate partners, and other key market influencers.

In this role, you will be on the front end of opportunity creation - building relationships, identifying new project leads, expanding our network, and introducing new clients and partners to the value of wilsonbauhaus. You will spend your time connecting with decision-makers and influencers, learning about their business goals, uncovering opportunities, and positioning our team as a trusted resource in the commercial interiors industry.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves the hunt, enjoys meeting new people, thinks strategically, and thrives on creating momentum. You will work closely with our VP of Sales, Account Executives, Design team, Marketing team, Finance team, and other cross-functional partners to help turn new relationships into meaningful business opportunities.

The right person for this role is self-motivated, confident, curious, professional, and energized by building something. You will have the freedom to identify your own opportunities, develop your own network, and make a visible impact on the continued growth of our organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building and maintaining relationships with Architecture & Design firms, Corporate Real Estate contacts, decision-makers, and key market influencers.
  • Identifying new business opportunities, new markets, growth areas, partnerships, trends, products, services, and ways to reach prospective clients.
  • Generating leads through networking, research, outreach, cold calling, events, and face-to-face relationship building.
  • Introducing prospective clients and partners to the value, resources, and capabilities of wilsonbauhaus.
  • Discovering project opportunities and working with the VP of Sales to bring in an Account Executive at the appropriate point in the process.
  • Representing the wilsonbauhaus brand professionally and consistently in the market.
  • Collaborating with Sales, Design, Marketing, Finance, and other internal teams to support business growth.
  • Using CRM tools to track activity, maintain pipeline visibility, and keep opportunity information current.
  • Staying informed on industry trends, workplace changes, Allsteel updates, product offerings, and market developments.
  • Participating in sales meetings, one-on-one strategy meetings, training opportunities, industry events, seminars, conferences, and professional organizations.
  • Supporting market activities while staying within planned budgets and making thoughtful, business-focused decisions

At wilsonbauhaus, we are looking for someone who is excited to help us grow, create new connections, and bring new opportunities to the team. This role is a key contributor to our company's future success and is ideal for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative, values-driven organization.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales, business development, relationship management, or a similar client-facing role.
  • Experience or working knowledge in the contract furniture, commercial real estate, architecture and design, commercial interiors, or related industry is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to confidently build relationships with new contacts, decision-makers, influencers, clients, partners, and internal team members.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, and comfortable taking ownership of results.
  • Strong networking, prospecting, lead generation, and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills for both in-person and virtual communication.
  • Ability to think strategically, see the bigger picture, and identify opportunities that support business growth.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Comfort using CRM systems to track activity, maintain pipeline information, and support sales visibility.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant computer tools.
  • Ability to understand customer needs, workplace trends, and business challenges in order to position solutions effectively.
  • Comfort with numbers and a general understanding of the financial aspects of business opportunities.
  • Ability to collaborate across Sales, Design, Marketing, Finance, and Project Management teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities, market needs, and business opportunities.
  • Professionalism, good judgment, and commitment to representing the wilsonbauhaus brand in alignment with our brand guidelines.
  • A desire to learn, grow, stay current on industry trends, and participate in training, events, and professional development opportunities.
  • Alignment with our core values: We-Minded, Elevated, Memorable, Innovative, Nice, Driven, Ethical, and Dedicated.
