The New Business Development Executive leads strategic growth efforts for designated OEM accounts by developing deep customer relationships, understanding customer needs, and driving both annual and multi-year growth plans and pipelines. You will serve as the primary liaison between the customer and internal teams to ensure alignment on priorities, opportunities, and performance expectations. This role requires strong technical acumen, the ability to navigate complex sales environments, and a commitment to delivering value through collaboration and expertise. Rooted in Our Values, the New Business Development Executive acquires new customers and helps core customers grow while strengthening long-term partnerships built on trust, service, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Actively leads new business development and hunting activities within key target markets.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned OEM accounts across all areas of the business.
  • Attends trade shows and builds a network of prospects that will be tracked within Salesforce.com.
  • Lead development and execution of annual business cycle activities and multi-year strategic plans and pipelines.
  • Build deep multi-level customer relationships across marketing, engineering, procurement, operations, and executive teams
  • Understand customer equipment, applications, channels, and end-user needs to influence growth strategies
  • Identify and present account growth opportunities that align with customer priorities and Ascentek capabilities
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional account teams to ensure clarity of priorities and timely execution
  • Provide support in solving technical challenges related to customer applications and product performance
  • Establish and maintain customer pricing in alignment with company guidelines
  • Assist with credit collections and financial follow up as needed
  • Track, analyze, and report on account results and forward-looking projections
  • Support new product development and technical collaboration efforts with internal specialists
  • Build technical and sales expertise through ongoing industry, market, and product training
  • Model Our Values in all customer and teammate interactions

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or related field

Experience and/or Training:
  • Minimum 10 years of field sales experience or equivalent
  • Proven record of closing large and complex accounts or programs
  • Understanding of manufacturing and environments where growth is driven by new product development
  • Proven success selling technical products
  • Experience working within multi-level, complex sales environments

License/Certification:
  • Valid driver's license

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to identify and influence key decision makers

  • Experience calling on OEMs within, outdoor power equipment, power sports, heavy duty construction/Ag/trucking, or forklift markets.
  • Experience selling new products for military applications into the armed forces, DOD or other government entities.
  • Background with selling batteries or lubricants in technical applications.
  • Proven ability to hunt and close new businesses especially in target markets listed above.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms

Physical, Mental, Environmental Demands:
  • Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, and use of hands for computer work
  • Occasional standing or walking
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs such as a laptop or product samples
  • Close vision and ability to focus on detailed work
  • Occasional travel to customer sites, events, and industry functions via car or air
  • Primarily office-based with moderate noise levels and periodic visits to customer production or trade show environments

The anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $125,000-$150,000annually. This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on the below:
