Led by serial founder and entrepreneur Ross Finman, Augmodo is a fast-growing, well-funded Series A startup at the forefront of spatial computing, transforming physical retail through AI and proprietary wearable technology. Our SmartBadges capture real-time 3D mapping and shelf inventory, providing our enterprise retail customers with unprecedented visibility and empowering their teams with dynamic digital tools. Due to significant industry demand and growth, we are hiring a VP of New Business Development for the Retail division.

As the Vice President of New Business Development, Retail, you will be the driving force behind Augmodo's market expansion, responsible for strategic new logo acquisition among major global retailers. This is a high-impact, strategic leadership role that goes beyond transactional sales; you will be focused on forging foundational, scalable partnerships that not only drive revenue but also directly influence our product roadmap. You will serve as a strategic advisor to C-suite executives, developing the compelling business case required to transition customers from initial pilots to full, enterprise-wide store deployments. This role reports directly to the Chief Customer Officer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Strategy & Leadership Strategic Vision: Define and execute the global new business development strategy, aligning sales goals with the company's overarching commercial objectives.
  • Sales Strategy & Leadership Revenue Management: Own new logo acquisition and expansion revenue goals, forecasting pipeline, achieving bookings targets, and optimizing the cost-of-acquisition.
  • Sales Strategy & Leadership Lead Executive Reviews: Lead strategic pitch meetings and proposals to secure new logos and align on strategic partnership goals.
  • Sales Strategy & Leadership C-Suite Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain deep, trust-based partnerships with executive leadership across prospective enterprise Retail accounts.
  • Sales Strategy & Leadership Scalable Operations: Build and refine the sales playbooks for communicating and demonstrating value, ensuring alignment to product and engineering capabilities and roadmap.
  • Sales Strategy & Leadership Team Excellence: In the future as your team grows, mentor and grow a world-class team of BDs, fostering a culture of extreme customer centricity with a bias for action.
  • New Business Execution & Market Strategy Lead the Sales Cycle: Own the pre-sales journey for prospects, actively guiding them from initial discovery through deployment to long-term agreements.
  • New Business Execution & Market Strategy Build the Business Case: Build compelling business cases for prospects that quantify our value and develop models that resonate with our target Retail customers.
  • New Business Execution & Market Strategy Market Advocacy: Develop compelling pitch decks and sales materials tailored to various buyer and influencer personas.
  • New Business Execution & Market Strategy Pipeline Management: Monitor sales metrics and pipeline health closely. Identify potential deal risks early and intervene decisively to accelerate closure.
What We're Looking For
  • Executive Leadership 10+ years of experience in leadership roles within Enterprise Sales or Business Development, with a focus on new logo acquisition in retail or related technology.
  • Strategic Acumen Proven ability to design and implement sales strategies that drive sustainable enterprise level engagements, resulting in โ€œhockey stickโ€ growth
  • Financial Ownership Direct experience owning departmental bookings and pipeline goals and driving Net New Revenue targets. Experience with SaaS a plus.
  • C-Suite Presence Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate at the highest levels of global retail organizations.
  • Industry Experience Deep experience selling enterprise technology solutions to Retailers and related industries.
  • Start-Up Grit You will need to roll up your sleeves, do the work, make it repeatable, always take action and generally pick up the ball when itโ€™s unclear who should.
