Job description

Position Overview

Holy Cross Medical Group is seeking a dynamic clinician-leader to serve as Medical Director of Neurology and lead the continued growth, strategic direction, and clinical excellence of its Neurology program. The HCMG Site Medical Director (SMD) Neurology is principally responsible for working in partnership with the Service Line Chief, Practice Manager and Division Director to give clinical and professional input of their clinical practice/specialty. Reporting directly to the Medical Group CMO and in collaboration with the administrative Division Director, has joint responsibility for overseeing the clinical and administrative aspects of Neurology. This includes holding various degrees of accountability for clinical quality of care, patient safety, patient satisfaction, staff and clinician satisfaction, productivity, revenue enhancement, managed care performance, recruitment, assuring adequate patient access and program growth/development and accreditation. In conjunction with the Practice Manager, the SMD will share accountability for practice performance goals and metrics, and for providing leadership for both practice clinicians and staff. The SMD receives extensive support from the practice manager and other members of the HCMG administrative team.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Administration (20%)

  • Collaborate with the Practice Manager to oversee day-to-day clinical operations and practice performance
  • Provide physician leadership to advance:
    • Clinical quality and patient safety
    • Patient satisfaction and experience
    • Clinician and staff engagement
    • Productivity and operational efficiency
  • Support program growth, service line expansion, and accreditation efforts
  • Drive improvement in:
    • Revenue cycle and financial performance
    • Managed care outcomes
    • Patient access and throughput
  • Participate in physician recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies
  • Partner with leadership to set and achieve performance goals, metrics, and strategic initiatives
  • Act as a liaison between physicians, administration, and health system leadership

Clinical Responsibilities (80%)

  • Deliver comprehensive Neurology patient care in outpatient and/or inpatient settings
  • Maintain high standards of evidence-based, patient-centered care
  • Participate in multidisciplinary care across the neurosciences service line

Contribute to development of subspecialty programs and clinical innovation

Qualifications

  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certified in Neurology
  • Valid, unrestricted Florida medical license (or eligible)
  • Eligible for medical staff privileges at Holy Cross Hospital
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in Neurology
  • Prior leadership experience
