🚀 Network Specialist - Lead Systems Operations for a HighImpact Mission Network

Leidos is seeking a Network Specialist to join a missioncritical, undisclosed network operations program. In this role, you'll be at the heart of realtime operations-supporting core network and system infrastructure, resolving complex technical issues, and elevating operator readiness. If you're energized by handson problem solving, systems leadership, and keeping mission environments running at peak performance, this is your next step.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in fastpaced operational settings and wants to make a measurable impact on system reliability, operator proficiency, and mission success.

🌐 What You'll Do

As a key technical expert on the operations floor, you'll provide advanced systems support, guide operators, and collaborate with engineering teams to keep mission systems secure, stable, and optimized.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Acting as the primary systems support specialist, diagnosing and resolving complex issues affecting systems and networks

  • Managing and maintaining RHEL 9 and Windows Server 2019/2022 environments

  • Training and mentoring operators, ensuring they are confident, capable, and missionready

  • Partnering with program leadership to deliver updates, insights, and recommendations

  • Implementing system changes and optimizations to improve performance and reliability

  • Collaborating with Tier 3 engineering on production deployment changes

  • Staying current on emerging technologies and industry best practices

This is a handson, highimpact role where your expertise directly strengthens mission operations.

🎯 Required Qualifications & Skills

You bring a strong technical foundation, operational awareness, and the ability to lead others through complex system challenges.

  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance

  • Current DoD 8140compliant security certification (IAT/IAM Level III equivalent)

  • Ability to obtain required computing environment certification within 6 months

  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and system patching

  • Experience with RHEL 9 administration and patching

  • Proficiency with PowerShell and BASH scripting

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across systems and networks

  • Familiarity with syslog and Windows Event Viewer

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven ability to support complex technical environments

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with leadership and crossfunctional teams

  • Demonstrated ability to train and mentor personnel in technical and operational domains

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications in Red Hat or Windows

  • Experience managing Windows Domain Infrastructure (DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, SCCM)

  • Familiarity with disaster recovery and backup best practices
