Strategic Staffing Solutions is currently looking for Network Engineer for a W2 contract opportunity.

Job ID: 246523
Duration: 12-Month Contract (Potential Extension up to 24 Months)
Location: Denver, CO / Minneapolis, MN / Amarillo, TX
Schedule: Fully Remote or Hybrid
Work Hours: Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 4:00 PM MT (40 hours/week)

Required Qualifications: MUST HAVE

  • 5 7 years of experience in network engineering or network support
  • Strong understanding of Layer 2 networking concepts
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies
  • Experience using ServiceNow for ticket and incident management
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer (Level 3) to support multiple enterprise infrastructure initiatives for, including Lifecycle Management project, Multiconnect project, and Rugged Communications projects. This role will focus on network infrastructure support, switch and firewall upgrades, configuration management, and operational ticket resolution in a large-scale enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong Cisco networking experience, a solid understanding of Layer 2 networking, and hands-on exposure to FortiGate firewalls. This position is primarily remote with no onsite installations, site travel, or walk-in support responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support enterprise network infrastructure projects including:

    • Lifecycle Management (LFC)
    • Multiconnect initiatives
    • Rugged Communications projects

  • Perform Cisco switch and access point refresh activities
  • Upgrade Cisco IOS and FortiGate firewall software
  • Support routers, switches, and firewall environments
  • Ensure global configuration consistency across network environments
  • Handle ServiceNow requests and incident tickets related to network operations
  • Coordinate IP address requests and network provisioning activities
  • Assist with firewall support and installations in FortiGate environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional infrastructure teams ranging from Analysts to Senior Engineers

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Manage and resolve ServiceNow requests for LFC and Multiconnect projects
  • Troubleshoot network-related incidents and operational issues
  • Perform remote network support and configuration tasks
  • Participate in team collaboration and project coordination meetings
  • Maintain documentation and configuration standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Layer 3 routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF
  • Exposure to FortiGate firewalls
  • Experience with RuggedCom networking environments
  • Relevant certifications such as:

    • CCNA
    • CCNP
    • Fortinet Certifications
    • Other related networking certifications


Education
