Job Description:

NETWORK ENGINEER

The Network Engineer performs CDS-related network related duties at the enclave level

(AFSCI, AO SIPRNet, SIPRNet, ACBN and Private ISP) at assigned locations IAWNCDSMO-R-00008-005_01, Department of War (DoW) and National Cross Domain Strategy &Management Office (NCDSMO) "Raise-the-Bar" (RTB) Standards, Version 5.1, dated 9 February 2026. The Network Engineer establishes, maintains and documents the appropriate CDS operational security postures for assigned enclaves. Designs, plans, and builds data center communications networks. Configures routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols. Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements. Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies. The Network Engineer provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process. Plans implementation of enhancements. The Network Engineer performs CDS Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) administrator duties.

Possess and maintain DoWD 8570 IAT Level II/DoDD 8140 Certification. Cisco Certified Network Professional is required.

The CDS Network Engineer shall complete vendor-provided CDS solution training, and will attain and maintain CDS vendor-provided certification

Security Clearance: TS/SCI

Experience: This position requires a minimum of 10 years' experience, of which at least four years must be specialized:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering, configuring, and troubleshooting network infrastructure.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering, configuring, and troubleshooting MPLS.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics, or business/finance.

Three years' additional applicable experience may be substituted for a degree.

The likely salary range for this position is $106,250 - $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
