Field Service Test Technician - NETA Testing
Spark Power, a trusted partner in energy in North America, is looking for a Field Service Test Technician - NETA Testing in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to join our team. As a Field Service Test Technician - NETA Testing, you will be performing electrical testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of power systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience with NETA testing standards with a strong understanding of electrical safety, compliance, and best practices.
What will do you as the Field Service Technician?
  • Perform electrical testing and maintenance on various equipment and systems in datacenters and substations.
  • Conduct acceptance and maintenance testing on electrical power systems, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, protective relays, and cables.
  • Perform NETA testing and inspections on electrical systems to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Conduct insulation resistance, power factor, relay tests, and other standard electrical tests.
  • Perform commissioning/preventative maintenance on equipment and systems to enhance reliability and performance.
  • Adhere to NETA testing standards and industry best practices while executing fieldwork.
  • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of test results and service reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication with clients, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure job expectations are met.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies at all times.
  • Operate and maintain testing equipment and tools required for electrical testing.
  • Assist in training junior technicians and supporting team development.

Do you have the Spark? Here's what we're looking for:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Certification: NETA certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical testing, maintenance, or commissioning, with experience working in datacenters and substations.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical testing methods, NETA standards, and power system components.
  • Safety Awareness: Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and electrical safety procedures.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities to diagnose electrical issues.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong customer service abilities.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work in various field conditions, and travel as required.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel 50%+ of the time for field assignments and customer support.
  • Other Requirements: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
