Job Summary:
Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director of Athletics for Academic and Student-Athlete Support Services, the Assistant Director of the Panicucci Center for Student-Athlete Success assists in the administration of the Division I Intercollegiate Athletics Program and has responsibility for the academic eligibility, graduation, and personal development of all student-athletes within the program. The incumbent provides primary academic support services with assigned teams and/or group of student-athletes. Assists in supervising the Student-Athlete Monitoring Program; provides and assists with direct supervision and oversight to graduate assistants and student interns; coordinates and solicits career development opportunities and programs for student-athletes; develops and conducts student-athlete development programming; and coordinates Community Service opportunities for assigned teams and/or group of student-athletes. The Assistant Director will assume supervisory duties in the absence of the Director.
Required Qualifications:
1. Master's degree required preferably in athletic administration/sport management, higher education, counseling, or related field.
2. 1-3 years' experience at the university or college level, preferably in athletics or student services.
3. Knowledge and understanding of NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics rules and regulations. Intercollegiate playing/coaching experience preferred.
4. Willingness to travel and work varied hours including evenings and weekends.
5. Experience and proficiency utilizing computer systems for word processing and spreadsheets. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access), on-line services, the internet, and other relevant software. Preference for knowledge of Datatel Colleague or similar student information software.
6. Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record in accordance with the University's Motor Vehicle Policy. A MVC check will be required at the time of hire and thereafter as deemed appropriate by the University. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the MVC check.
7. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check.
