Job Description:
Job Summary:
Incumbent helps clients apply for state or federal benefits, including Medicaid enrollment and appeals. Provides administrative support and client transportation as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Completes intake paperwork, payment responsibility assessments, and record-keeping.
  • Transports clients to Medicaid-related appointments.
  • Travels to office sites as needed to support clients.
  • Completes administrative duties such as verifying insurance, registering/updating client information, and assisting with front-office tasks.
  • Acts as a liaison for clients with Medicaid and other social services.
  • Handles appeals and court interactions when necessary.
  • Stores state/federal documents for clients.
  • Works with EHR, filing systems, and insurance verification software.
    • Tracks monthly statistics of services provided.
    • Ensures accuracy in scheduling and front-office support.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience using: Office 365 Excel and Word, fax machine, copier, scanner, and postage meter.
  • Knowledge and competencies with harm reduction, motivational interviewing and relevant treatment modalities being used in the field.
  • Knowledge of culture and values in the local community.
  • Demonstrate a welcoming approach to all individuals.
  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.

Experience and Education Qualifications:
  • Navigator license required within two months of employment
  • Complete two CEUs per year to maintain licensure.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Three (3) years of experience working in community health, human services outreach and/or healthcare preferred.
  • Proactively Stay current on state and federal benefits changes or additions
  • Desirable experience includes: multi-tasking, problem-solving, professionalism, high attention to detail, confidentiality, initiative, organization, reliability, and ability to handle high-stress environments, receptive to coaching.

Supervisory Requirements:
  • None.

Employment Requirements:
  • Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect.
  • Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.
  • All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.
  • Current driver's license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.
  • Adhere to conflict of interest standards.
  • Provide special accommodations to patients needing access to healthcare.
  • Uphold Marketplace privacy and security standards.
  • Must provide evidence that incumbent is free of infectious and contagious disease prior to beginning employment and annually thereafter.
  • TB- Expected for all direct care team members. Mandatory for Kansas Residential staff.
  • Annual Health Assessment- Mandatory Kansas Youth Residential team members.
