Job description

Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) is a brief, evidence-based therapeutic approach that is practical, problem-focused, and planned. The goal of BSFT "is to transform interactions from conflictive to collaborative, from anger to love, from negative to positive, and from habitual to proactive. Families change because the love that is trapped behind the anger is allowed to flourish."

Summary of Work
The interventionist is responsible for providing Brief Strategic Family Therapy Services for families where a child or children are at-risk of out-of-home placement. With a focus on family preservation, this position will utilize philosophy and skills acquired through Brief Strategic Family Therapy model training and passing competency panel.
Duties and Tasks
Direct Service: Provides family therapy services in compliance with the Brief Strategic Family Therapy model; Serves as advocate for services for families; makes recommendations related to individual treatment as needed.
Documentation and Record Keeping: Completes documentation congruent with the BSFT model; when appropriate, will complete Title IV-E billing in the portal; DJS Time logs; timesheets for payroll.
Other duties: Participate in consultation sessions, education, and training opportunities; participate in supervision and other agency related meetings; and all other duties as assigned. No on-call requirements. Ability to work remotely/home office. Flexible 40-hour work schedule. Some travel within the designated service area is required to meet the needs of families.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree in mental health, social work, family-marriage area of counseling or related field
OR
Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of experience working with families may qualify. Applicants must demonstrate ability in working with ALL family members and have a basic knowledge and understanding of how family systems operate.
