Although your primary responsibilities will be conducted from your chosen location, you will engage with clients primarily within school settings. This setting allows for flexible scheduling, including evening and weekend hours to accommodate clients’ availability.

• Conduct thorough and comprehensive assessments to accurately understand clients’ presenting issues, family dynamics, and treatment goals.
• Provide tailored individual, couples, and family therapy sessions utilizing various evidence-based methodologies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness techniques, and narrative therapy.
• Collaboratively develop and implement customized treatment plans, regularly revisiting and modifying them as necessary to ensure they meet clients’ evolving needs.
• Maintain strict confidentiality while adhering to ethical guidelines and legal requirements outlined by state and federal regulations.
• Continuously engage in professional development, attending workshops and training that enhance your skills and keep you updated on best practices in social work.
• Foster a strong therapeutic alliance with clients, promoting trust, collaboration, and open communication to facilitate their growth and healing process.
• Offer ongoing support, practical strategies, and guidance to help clients effectively navigate personal challenges and life transitions.

In this role, you will work with a diverse population that includes children, adolescents, and families in a school setting. These clients often face a wide range of mental health issues, from anxiety and depression to behavioral concerns and learning difficulties. Your empathetic and holistic approach will be essential in addressing their unique challenges and assisting them in achieving their therapeutic goals.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Active and valid state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
• A minimum of two years of clinical experience, ideally within a similar setting or in private practice.
• Demonstrated strong clinical skills in areas such as assessment, treatment planning, and the implementation of effective interventions.
• Excellent communication skills, combined with empathy and interpersonal abilities that foster positive client relationships.

• Experience in child and adolescent therapy, specifically in a school environment.
• Familiarity with community resources and referral systems within Paterson, New Jersey.
• Skills in utilizing teletherapy platforms and other remote counseling technologies.
