Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant with expert quantitative and analytical skills to interpret, organize, and report financial data, identify business issues and opportunities, and deliver sustainable solutions. The ideal candidate manages multiple overlapping deadlines, communicates effectively across all levels of the organization, and upholds professional accounting standards and regulatory requirements at all times. Strong English communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint), and the ability to work collaboratively and stay effective under pressure are essential. This person also brings strong project planning abilities, strategic decision-making, critical thinking, and business acumen to support long-term organizational goals, while consistently adhering to company policies on attendance, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.

Main Job Duties
  • Partner with outside tax providers, as needed, including oversight of global corporate income tax filings, including review of draft returns, tax calendars, and work plans, etc. (Jurisdictions include US, UK, NL, AU, DE, etc)
  • Oversee indirect tax compliance functions, including sales tax, Canadian GST/QST, VAT, 1099, 1042, DAC 7, and W-8 BEN-E.
  • Prepare and review correspondence relating to various tax issues, including Sales Tax audits.
  • Assist accounting with the review of routine intercompany calculations and journal entries for the region.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to obtain data, reports, invoices, or other documentation as required.
  • Coordinate with accounting groups to ensure tax payments are allocated correctly; process journal entries or reclass entries as required.
  • Reconcile tax payments to ensure accuracy and proper allocation to internal accounts.
  • Research, analyze, interpret, document, and apply tax rules related to the sale of digital assets/services and the applicability of marketplace facilitator rules.
  • Continuously pursue professional education, updates, best practice information, and professional publications, and mentoring relationships to remain abreast of tax law developments that will impact the organization.
  • Work collaboratively with others within and outside of the Global Tax function to achieve goals, simplify processes, reduce costs, prevent loss, and to ensure that work is completed accurately and on time.
