FBMM is seeking a detail-oriented Royalty Income Tracking Analyst to join our team in Nashville. This role plays a key part in helping ensure our clients receive the royalty income they are owed across the music industry's many revenue streams.

The Royalty Income Tracking Analyst monitors and analyzes royalty payments, reviews licensing agreements, and investigates discrepancies in royalty reporting. Working closely with business managers, clients, and industry partners, this role helps protect and maximize client income through careful analysis, research, and reporting.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone beginning their career in music business, royalty accounting, or rights management, and looking to gain hands-on experience with royalty data, contracts, and music industry revenue systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret complex royalty and licensing agreements.

  • Track, monitor, and analyze royalty income across multiple revenue sources.

  • Analyze royalty statements and financial reports to verify proper deal implementation and payment accuracy.

  • Identify discrepancies, missing income, or shortfalls and assist in pursuing back-claims where appropriate.

  • Gather, organize, and reconcile royalty data from multiple sources for analysis and reporting.

  • Track consumption and earnings data across platforms and reporting systems.

  • Review song registrations to ensure proper setup and reporting.

  • Support royalty research and statement analysis during new client onboarding.

  • Assist with transitioning and maintaining client royalty portal access.

  • Communicate with external partners such as performance rights organizations, publishers, distributors, and record labels to resolve royalty issues.

  • Respond to inquiries from internal teams and clients in a timely and professional manner.

  • Prepare analytical reports for business management teams and clients.

  • Manage multiple projects and meet reporting deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail.

  • Support additional royalty-related research, reporting, and special projects as assigned.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Music Business or related field strongly preferred.

  • Entry-level experience (0-1 year) in music industry, finance, data analysis, or related field.

  • Relevant coursework may include:

    • Copyright Law

    • Record Label Operations

    • Music Publishing

  • Basic understanding of royalty concepts and music rights management preferred.

  • Exposure to royalty reporting platforms, ISRC matching, or music industry databases is a plus.

  • Experience working with financial data, reporting systems, or analytical tools is beneficial.

  • Familiarity with the music industry, record labels, music publishing, and rights management.
