Empowered Services is a one-on-one attendant care agency providing in-home and community-based support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) deliver person-centered care that promotes independence, builds daily living skills (ADLs), and supports meaningful community engagement.


Role Overview

We are seeking an entry-level Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to provide engaging, one-on-one support for an active and creative young individual.This role is ideal for someone who is energetic, organized, and enjoys building meaningful relationships while supporting independence, communication, and community involvement.


Who You'll Be Supporting

You'll be supporting a bright, artistic, and highly engaging young person who thrives on creativity, connection, and movement. He has a strong memory, enjoys music, and loves expressing himself through art and social interaction.


He enjoys:

  • Outdoor activities like swimming, hiking, kayaking, and rock climbing
  • Music, church activities, and community outings
  • Familiar routines and structured schedules
  • Interests like Spelling 2 Communicate, Veggie Tales, and water-related content
  • Spending time with his service dog and visiting favorite places


He does best with:

  • Predictable routines and visual supports
  • Clear, concise communication
  • A calm, patient, and encouraging approach
  • Regular movement breaks and engaging activities
  • A provider who is proactive with planning and structure


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one caregiving and behavioral support in home and community settings
  • Assist with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) including hygiene, nutrition, and mobility
  • Create and follow structured daily routines and visual schedules
  • Support community engagement and recreational activities
  • Encourage communication, independence, and skill-building
  • Provide supervision (visual/sound awareness) to ensure safety
  • Collaborate with team members and document progress as needed


Schedule

  • Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM


Qualifications

  • Experience in caregiving, DSP, behavioral support, or IDD services preferred (not required)
  • Passion for helping others and building meaningful connections
  • Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Comfortable supporting personal care needs (ADLs)


Pay & Benefits

  • $23-$25/hour depending on experience, skills, and certifications
  • Full-time (30+ hours) eligible for:
