Job Summary:

The Role:

  • Responsible for assisting daily operations and overall business objectives in the Music Hall.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the labor cost of the shift, paying close attention to overtime
  • Accurate accounting close-out of special events
  • Checking accuracy of labor system at the end of the shift
  • Maintain appropriate atmosphere (lights, sound level, room temperature, cleanliness, line of sight, table maintenance, room capacity)
  • Conduct operations with a Guest First mindset
  • Ensure all recap forms are submitted to accounting
  • Ensure that Blues Buster is set up for success
  • Perform opening, ongoing and closing duties
  • Conduct daily pre-shift in an upbeat and motivational manner
  • Perform daily liquor pulls for bar staff
  • Ensure all cash drawers have appropriate change
  • Log nightly sales and operational issues in Manager Log Book, either manually or online
  • Conduct safety, cleaning and maintenance walk-through - interior and exterior of building
  • Check ticket counts with box office before shift begins
  • Check email and mail box for current information
  • Update Contact Log at the end of the shift
  • Familiarize self with event sheets
  • Facilitate proper inter-departmental communication and organization

Qualifications:

Required:

  • (State or County Licensee or Certification Requirement)/ Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work late hours
  • Flexible schedule
  • 3 years supervisory experience in high volume restaurant/music hall environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Point of Sales system, preferably MICROS
  • Knowledge of state, federal and local liquor laws and health code regulations
  • Ability to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety minded manner
  • Tolerance of all cultures, music and art forms
  • Skilled in decision making, leadership, guest relations, interpersonal communications, organization, team building, time management, and staff management
  • Ability to motivate staff, problem solve, lead, delegate, follow up, deal with volatile situations with tact and confidence

Preferred:

  • At least 2 years' experience with a national restaurant chain
  • Experience in a live music environment
  • College diploma in related field

Physical Demands/Working Environment:

  • Working environment is fast-paced, often loud and stressful
  • Position requires extended periods of prolonged standing and working on your feet
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper lifting techniques
